CHAPTER TWO.
"how do i look?" nixon had asked his homeboys, swirling around in a circle before looking straight at them.

"you looking jiggy nigga!" addox replied as he looked back at his friend.

nixon looked over at his friend tyler, waiting for his response but to no avail. he had been busy playing super mario bros and ignored nixon. nixon grabbed a book that was placed on a dresser over to his right and threw it directly at tyler. tyler jumped a bit and looked back at nixon, rolling his eyes; nixon waiting for a response.

"she just helping you with your homework, don't know why you dressing up," tyler said in a snarky tone as he played on his gameboy. nixon lifted up his eyebrow at his statement.

"and nigga? this ain't even nothing boy," nixon responded. he wore his multi colored windbreaker along with some lightcolored jeans and some sneakers; something light.

"like i said, you just going over there to study." tyler placed the toy aside him and sat up, looking at his friend. nixon lifted his arm up and looked at his watch, the time read 6:45 p.m., and it was pretty dark outside. it tends to get darker around 5 during the winter, nixon thought he had to get a move on.

"aight, whatever. im gone, ya sure i look good?" nixon asked once more. addox rolled his eyes hard as he got up from the dorm chair that was situated in his dorm, approaching the door and opening it.

"yes nigga, get the fuck out," addox replied, pushing nixon out the door. "and get to stepping, tell us how it went when you come back home g." addox slammed the door, making nixon surprised. his friends were everything to him, although they were dickheads to him, he knew it was all out of love.

nixon quickly took the staircase out of the dormitory and immediately made his way outside the cold air. new york city was extremely cold, hence it was winter. although, it stopped snowing but there was ice everywhere, making nixon slip and slide a bit but he still continued to rush down the sidewalks to get to the stairs that led subway station.

as nixon made his way underground to catch the subway, he saw the shuttle leave, making him suck his teeth. there was never a time where he never missed the train. he rolled his eyes as standbyers had waited for the next train as well. he didn't want to be late for his study session with amina, that would be horrible for the both of them but nixon was rarely late to anything so he wasn't totally worried. nixon looked over to his right and a white businessman had sat on the bench, waiting for the train.

"ay, you got the time?" nixon had asked the businessman. the man ignored him, simply scooting away from nixon. nixon sucked his teeth and went on to ask someone else. to his left was a white woman who had been focused on the pager that was in her hands. as he asked her for the time, she walked away.
