this was the stupidest idea ever, why in the hell did I agree to this?!

I was internally screaming at myself as I attempted to tame my hair that was wild and poofy from me falling asleep on it wet last night. There is absolutely no way Im going to have it managed in 5 minutes. I gave up, braiding it back loosely enough to hide my scar and getting dressed in jeans a tshirt and a hoodie.

I wasnt expecting the dazed look on his face when i walked down stairs he stood right at the door were I left him. "Are we going or?" I asked walking up to the door way pulling my bag over my shoulder he hadn't moved at all. "Yeah, sorry." He said. He was acting like a gentle man the whole time, opening the door any everything it felt like it was a bit much. I could tell he was still nervous especially the way he kept fixing his hair.

The ride was silent and again somehow he was able to get to my door and open it before I had the chance to myself. "Dude, were at a burger place, not some fancy restraunt." I scoffed as he closed the door behind me. "I just want everything to be perfect." He chuckled putting an arm around my shoulder and leading me inside as it started sprinkling. The contact made my face go red, he didnt care to grip onto my shoulder where he knew I had scars just like he made it a point to act like they didnt matter.

I never had a guy treat me like this before, when I weighed over 200 pounds and didnt have the scars I do now. It made me feel good about myself... for about 1/2 a second after he lead me to a booth and we sat down. "Paul?!" a voice chimed gaining my attention to the pretty waitress that walked up to the table, she was the barbie doll kind of perfect I dreamt about being when I was little. Perfect blonde hair bright blue eyes and a figure that even now put mine to shame. Even her smile was flawless as she beamed at Paul making me feel like nothing but a bug under her shoe as she swayed her hips in his direction pretending that I wasn't there.

Paul looked like a deer caught in headlights looking at me like he was expecting me to be angry about something, but this is what I was trying to tell him earlier. There are way better looking girls than me obviously anxious to sit where I am right now.

"I didn't expect to see you here what can I get you today?" She asked touching his shoulder in a way that told me shes done it before, probably a lot more too. I just looked down at the table. He ordered his food from memory they way she giggle writing everything down made me feel like some sort of awkward 3rd wheel, the confidence I felt just minutes before out the window. "Kat, Babe do you know what you want?" Pauls voice clawed me out of my own head and threw me under a microscope.

For the first time since she approached the table the Blonde named Tiffany according to the name tag on the front of her 50s style waitress uniform turned and acknowledged my existence, with an amused look on her face. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow expecting me to know the menu. "No." I said making her roll her eyes like I was being a nuisance. "I'll have them get started on your orders while she makes up her mind." She sighed handing me a menu. "Thanks, can you also get us some shakes I'll take a chocolate and she'll have..." Paul said glancing at me. "Um strawberry." I said shrugging. "Oh sorry, were all out of strawberry." Tiffany nearly scathed at me with the fakest apology I think i've ever heard in my life. "No its not, he just ordered one." Paul said motioning to another customer who sat at the bar just as he was handed a pink milkshake. "Oh looks like they got more." Tiffany stammered caught up in her lie. "I'll be back in a few." She said giggling almost instantly recovering from the embarrassing fact that Paul had called her out.

"Sorry about that, I didnt know she worked here." He said immediately while she was still in earshot. I know because i watched her glance over her shoulder looking at him confused and then glaring at me as soon as she saw that I was looking at her. "Shes very pretty." I muttered quietly as I looked at the menu. "Nothing compared to you." He said winking at me. "Plus you cant cover up a shit personality with all the makeup in the world." He scoffed in an obvious attempt to make me feel better but it want really working, the bad part is that he could tell. "Hey, lets get out of here." He sighed. "You already ordered your food there's no point in leaving now." I said pointedly.
