TRAVIS:
I woke up from my bed, and slowly fell out of it, groaning. I didn't feel like waking up, but today was an important day. Today was the day I was going to ask Katelyn out! I threw on a green button up and some of my nicest jeans. I did however stick with the sneakers I always wore on my feet. I headed up for some breakfast. Dante was in the kitchen pouring himself a bowl of cereal, his hair all sorts of messy.
   "Oh, morning Travis." he yawned.
   "Are you cool, dude?"
"Yeah, just didn't get a lot of sleep."
"You gotta stop playing that game late at night." I laughed, grabbing the box of Mr. Saturn Rings.
"I know, but Undertale is so addicting! I have to try every single path!"
"I swear Dante." I poured some in a bowl, and grabbed the milk. "Can you go to the store today?"
   "Why can't you?"
"U-Uh... I have to do stuff today."
"What kind of stuff, Travis?" Dante perked up, suddenly interested in my life.
"Um... I... ugh." I sighed. I realized I needed to tell him sooner or later. "I'm going to ask Katelyn out today."
"I thought you did that last week. Didn't she reject you... again?"
"DANTE!" I frowned, "That's because I wasn't serious enough. This time, I am going to show her just how much I like her."
"Too cheesy. You know what you have to do to get the girls?"
"DANTE YOUR ADVICE DOESN'T WORK!" I groaned, "I'm just gonna eat in my room!"
"Come on Travis... you've had a thing for her since high school and it's clear she doesn't feel the same way so why don't you just... stop already?"
   "I won't give up... I can't." I mumbled.
"And why not? You had plenty of girls crush on you before... but this one. Travis, I hate to break it to you, but she doesn't like you like that."
"You wait and see." I turned around, "It's going to work, this time."
"Dream on, Travis." Dante turned around and continued eating his cereal. I was a bit infuriated after Dante's reaction. I wondered why today was different. I went to my room and took a bite of the cereal, logging onto my computer. I was looking up local flower shops and restaurants I could take Katelyn to. I picked one, and kept the number in his phone. I decided I would go to the flower shop later today to pick up some flowers... I wanted to get Katelyn some blue lilies. As silly as it was, I figured Katelyn would say something like, "Roses are too stupid." So, I went with the blue lilies. I walked out of the house, and saw Lucinda out on her porch. This was a first, so I waved and said,
   "Hey Lucinda!"
"Travis? Oh hey!" she walked down to meet him. "What's going on? What's with you looking all fancy, huh?"
"Well, I was going to get some flowers."
   "Who's the lucky girl?"
   "Katelyn, of course." I blushed.
"Travis... honey..." Lucinda crossed her arms, "That's sweet, but you know..."
"What? Are you going to be like Dante?"
   "What?"
"S-Sorry." I looked down in shame, "It's just that he told me she wouldn't say yes... it kind of hurt."
"While Dante may have been a bit blunt, he has a point, you know. He's just trying to look out for you, Travis. I think of all people, he doesn't want to see you hurt the most. Katelyn, she's straight-forward. As much as I don't enjoy it, she knows who she'll give a chance to and who she won't. Travis, I just don't think Katelyn's the girl you need."
   "I..."
"It hurts, and I'm sorry, but just like Dante, I don't want you to get hurt because of Katelyn rejecting you."
"I want to. And I will. She'll say yes, I just feel it."
   "Travis... are you sure?"
"Yes. B-Besides, maybe she'll say yes and we'll actually be you know, boyfriend and girlfriend, a-and not just pretend either!"
"Heh, dream on Travis." she walked away, and went into her house. I felt my jaw quiver and then I stopped.
"Come on Travis," I whispered, "You just can't let them get to you! You can do it!" I walked down to the flower shop nearby, and I picked up the lilies. "I know Katelyn gets done with her meditation, then has lunch. She should be available at around 1. It's 10 now." I grabbed my phone, and texted her. "Hey Katelyn, wanna hang at 1? I have something I want to ask you!" I waited a minute, and then I heard my phone's ringer. I opened it up, and she texted back.
   "Yeah sure. Where?"
   "How about the park?"
"Cool. See you then." I put my phone in my pocket, and sighed. She said yes to the park. I decided I would scope out the park to find the perfect place to ask her. I walked to the park, and saw a ton of kids on the play set. There were also a ton of joggers, one of which I knew.
"Travis!" Aaron called out, and stopped jogging, "Hey!"
"Hey Aaron!" I smiled, "Didn't think I'd catch you on a jog this time of day."
"Yeah, I didn't want to miss it, but I had to take Celestia to a checkup this morning. Aph couldn't do it because she works at the cafe all day today, so I decided to take her."
   "Oh, I see."
"So what are you doing here, Travis?"
"Well, I wanted to find a good place here to ask Katelyn out."
"Katelyn? Oh, but hasn't she rejected you in the past?"
   "Yeah..."
   "When was the last time?"
   "Last week."
"Last week?! Travis... if she keeps rejecting you like this, it must mean she doesn't see you like that right now."
"It was last week! 7 days can really change a person!"
   "I'm not sure, Travis..."
"Are you going to doubt me like Lucinda and Dante, too?"
   "What? No, I'm not..."
   "You sure?"
"Travis you know I don't doubt people. There's no doubt in my mind you're a good person, trust me you're one of the most... romantic guys I've met. But maybe Katelyn just doesn't think it'd be the same if you were dating vs. if you were just friends. Maybe she just doesn't want to lose your friendship."
   "But we wouldn't lose it."
"Than tell her that when you do plan on asking her out... if I were in your position, I would be honest. Spill your heart... open up to her."
   "Y-Yeah?"
"It took me a while, but Aph got me to crack, look where we are now. Dream on, Travis, you can do this." he smiled, and jogged away. He disappeared from sight, and I turned around. Dream on, Travis. I've heard that 3 times today. 2 of them, were in negative ways, but Aaron... he knew how to make a girl happy. I mean, he had Aphmau... so maybe I just do what he did. Be myself, open up a bit, and tell her just how much I care. I really needed that after today. I looked up ahead, and saw a bench under a tree. I looked at the time, and it was 12:30. Lunch was over, too bad. I walked over to the bench, and sat down, the cool breeze under the tree hitting my face. I had 30 minutes... so I decided to check my phone. There wasn't anything, so I passed the time by playing some weird game Dante downloaded on it. I looked up, and Katelyn was on her way. I felt my phone buzz, and I looked at it. It was Katelyn.
   "Hey, where are you?"
"I'm at the bench under that tree."
"Gotcha. I see you." I stood up, and Katelyn walked over, smiling.
   "Hey Travis."
   "Hey Katelyn."
   "So, why the park?"
"Well, I... wanted to talk to you."
   "Travis, are you okay?"
"Well, actually, I'm not sure..." I was having doubts. Aaron may have supported me, but Lucinda, and Dante... they were pretty close to me, and didn't as much. "Can I be honest?"
"Travis." we sat down on the bench, "Of course you can."
"Katelyn, I wanted to ask you out today, but I c-can't."
   "What?"
"Dante and Lucinda, they really got to me today. They told me you would just reject me again. B-But, I wanted to try. I ran into Aaron here while I was trying to pick a place. He told me I could do it, and to dream on. You know, everyone told me to, 'Dream On, Travis.'... I'm sorry. I know you probably don't like me like that but I really tried, you know?"
   "Travis..."
"I think maybe I should've forgotten it. Here, take these, for what it's worth." Travis gave Katelyn the blue lilies, sighing. "I ruined everything."
"You didn't, Travis. I caused this."
   "Wait, what?"
"Had I not been so stupid and rejected you so many times, I could've have stopped you from being hurt. I was... still am insecure. I mean, I like you, a lot, I've never not liked you, even in high school. There's a reason I haven't really dated anyone since high school too, you know. But, someone as good as you... doesn't deserve someone like me."
"Katelyn that's not true. You're amazing!"
   "I am?"
"You've helped me through so much, you're an incredible friend, and you're compassionate. Those are important traits to have."
   "Travis..."
"I just... wanted to be more than friends."
   "I do too..."
"U-Uh," Travis blushed, then took a deep breath, "Then would you like to go to dinner with me, later tonight?"
   "R-Really?"
   "Yeah."
   "I'd love to, Travis."
   "Can I... kiss you?"
"Yes." Katelyn blushed. Travis closed his eyes, and felt a slap on his cheek.
   "WAKE UP TRAVIS!"
"GAH!" he woke up and was on his couch. Katelyn was standing over him.
   "REALLY?"
   "W-What?"
"YOU WERE TALKING IN YOUR SLEEP, IDIOT!" Katelyn roared.
   "Oh, crap..."
   "Ugh! Whatever! I'm going home."
"B-But the dream... was it real?" I looked at her, and she was in a dress.
"J-Just... Dream on, Travis!" she walked out, and Dante placed a hand on her shoulder.
   "Nice, dude. You did good."
"I am so confused right now." I frowned.
   "Good." Dante laughed.
