— Chance's POV —

the ache in my head from the party the night before was horrible. I had taken at least five bathroom trips during church, I was praying my parents didn't question it.

Not only was that the first time I had drank, but it was going to be my last. nothing was worth the headache I had waking up this morning.

My family gathered around the table at Mimi's, a local diner that was owned by one of the church goers. it was our Sunday ritual.

I wasn't hungry at all, but not eating anything would draw suspicion from everyone. William had laughed at me this morning, he called my hangover karma.

I chose to order the pancakes just like Cindy, because there was only two and were light on my upset stomach.

the small talk worked around the table, everyone waiting for the waitress to arrive.
everyone was so happy, everyone but me. I was the one with a hangover.

I didn't know why this waitress was taking so long, but she was anticipating on my headache to get worse.

"My names B and I'll be your server today." the familiar voice ran through my ears. I glanced up quickly, my heart dropping to my stomach.

"what can I get for drinks?" She said, holding the most fake smile I had ever seen.

She met my gaze, causing a smirk to move over her face. I knew that she knew about my horrible hangover, which explained her smirk.

I gave her the dirtiest glare, hoping she'd catch the drift. don't speak anything of me last night.

everyone ordered off their drinks, me going last only. she started taking everyone's orders.

When B walked away, a sigh of relief escaped my lips. I didn't even realize I was holding my breath.

"Are you okay, hunny? You look awfully pale." My mother spoke, causing everyone's attention to go to me.

"I'm fine. Feel a bit sick. meat loaf didn't agree with my stomach." I said simply, shrugging my shoulders.

After a long and hard look, the conversation went on and I was no longer the topic. Another sigh of relief escaping my lips.

B had came back with everyone's food, and left just as quick. I couldn't handle seeing her anyway. Especially after last night.

Everyone dug into their plate except for me. I picked at my pancakes, they didn't even look appetizing.

"Excuse me, I have to use the restroom." I said causally to my family, standing up from the table.

I walked in the direction of the bathroom, feeling as if I was going to lose my breakfast.

I tried keeping the lump in my throat contained. I glanced back, noticing my parents hadn't been watching me.

Glancing back was the worst mistake in my life, in seconds I had smashed into a waitress causing all the food on the tray to spill all over including them.

The biggest problem was the waitress was B. It couldn't have been anyone else?

"You've got to be kidding me Walters." She hissed, glancing down at her now covered in food apron.

"I didn't mean it, I'm sorry." I said quickly. She turned right around and went into the door she came from.

I rushed around and ran to the bathroom where I lost all of my breakfast.

Everything was such a mess including Mimi's floor and now B's clothing.
