A couple, Sara and Jacob, walked up their stairs happily talking about their next baby while heading to their 7 year daughter, Cassie's, room. They was getting ready to tell her the news of getting a new younger sibling. They were excited to see her reaction.
The two approached her door, opened it, and seen their daughter drawing on her desk. They smiled to each other and walked over to her. Just as they were fixing to tell her the news, Sara noticed the drawing. She gasp and looked over to her husband as he studied the drawing.
It was a picture of all of them standing in a line except there was a smaller figure standing between the parental figure's.
The two were confused cause the taller one was clearly was their daughter, but who was the smaller figure? It couldn't of been the baby. They haven't even told her.
Jacob shook his head, leaned in front on his daughter, and asked who it was. Her response gave me chills. She responded with 'my little brother.'
Both of us looked at each other. How did she know? She could of ease dropped but that doesn't explain how she guessed/knew the gender.
They looked back at her drawing and notice she just put an X on her "little brother." The two looked at each other with worry and shock. They imminently took the drawing, and put their daughter to bed despite her protest. They threw the drawing away, and left her room.
8 mouths went by and the couple was excited for the arrival of their little boy. They were worried at their daughters choice of words she had said through out the period of time. She kept making comments like "He won't live" or "He'll be in a better place soon."
They didn't know what she meant nor didn't know what the drawing meant but they decided to think nothing of it and assumed that she didn't like the thought of getting a new sibling. What they didn't know was that assumption would soon end.
Two weeks went by and the couple were sitting at home in tears. Sara had came back from the hospital three days ago after being worked on. She had a miscarriage. Their little boy, never got to see their world.
The couple was depressed for the next few days, and decided to stay like that. They couldn't deal with the pain. They lost a child. They still couldn't believe it. They lost, a child.
Trying to get the thought out of her head, Sara decided to check on her daughter. For the past few days, she heard Cassie talking in her room and giggling to herself. Tonight however, was quiet.
She walked up their stairs, and went in her daughters room. There, she found her asleep on her desk. Sara put on a small smile and walked over to her. She intended to lift Cassie up, and put her to bed. But that thought went away after she saw what was under her daughters hand.
Another drawing. It was the same drawing as she drew before but this time, the two parental figure's had X's on them, and a long black shaded figured stood next to the child.
The bottom of the picture sent chills down her spine.
At the bottom, a phrase was written. It read You'll be in a better place soon."
