I forced my eyes open and away from the drowsiness that surrounded them. I had been in this same room for about 3 days straight. I had taken two hour naps while leaning against the door just in case something tried to sneak in while I tired to get a tiny bit of sleep. This job was killing me. It was killing everyone here, but I tried much harder than most here. I had something to live up to. Most here were drafted for the job, much like being drafted for a war. Probably because this was like a war. This door needed to be guarded 24/7 no matter the holiday or disaster that might have occurred.
I slowly stood, quietly scanning the room. something wasn't right. it had been about 5 hours since the last disturbance in the room. It's been too quiet for too long. I knew I shouldn't have been trying to sleep in here. Someone would be coming in to relieve me of my duties for the next two days in just a few hours. I hate to say but no matter how much weight you put on that door it wouldn't stop something from coming though. which explains the metal cased room around the door. The room consisted of a mini fridge, a micro wave, a trash can, and a cheap torn up couch. The room was hastily put together as it was to be the sight for the most active door currently known.
I quickly jolted my body as a creak in the floor perked my interest. I had not moved a single inch in the last 5 minutes. I focused, following where the noise had came from. Before I could really figure out where the unwanted entity was he had revealed himself. He was sitting on the couch, which was positioned directly in front of the door. He had his arms crossed, a bored look on his face as if he had been here for hours just watching me. His bright red hair covered his glowing yellow eyes as he spoke.
"You know, You are a shit guard dog. All this talk about a signal women causing anything that comes through that door to gasp it's last breaths in this room. And here I find you sleeping on the job." He rose as he spoke, slowing walking closer. He was a good 7 feet tall, only wearing torn brown pants. His skin was tan and he was every well toned. As he came closer I refused to move, gripping the knife in my hand tighter. "So love, What'd you have to say for yourself?" He asked, his tone growing dark, now standing a foot or two away from me. "I don't have to say anything to something like you." This made him grin, sharp white teeth showing. "oh, but I have a feeling you'll be saying lots of things to something like me~" he purred coming closer.
I took this chance to swipe at him with my knife, quick and easy, only a warning at the moment, he moved out of the way with ease, only getting a scratch on his arm. "Get your ass back in that door, or die in this metal box like the rest of your friends." I growl, causing him to chuckle. He came close again, and before I knew it he had my knife. "now Love, why don't you calm down a moment and talk to me a bit." He said, grin never leaving his face. I quickly ripped another blade from the pocket on my thigh, this time swiping much faster and precise , cutting deep across his chest, only to be pulled in close to his chest, blade dropping to the floor with a clang. "hmm, you're not as fast as they all said. You just keep getting more and more disappointing don't you?" He growled into my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.
God I hate getting the hot cocky ones in here. He was about to say something else when the door creaked open. at that moment he disappeared, his grip on me fading as he did. I pulled a throwing knife from the opposite thigh, throwing straight at the new visitor. there was a screech of pain and a now blue furred troll looking demon stood where the noise had came from, the knife sticking out of its head. It looked pissed, staring at me for a moment, and before it got the chance to come any closer to me the knife was forced through its skull. I just stared for a second, and then the red headed demon reappeared next to the now dead demon. He looked at me with a sly smirk, lips curling much like the ram horns spiraling from his skull. "now love, you sure you don't want to talk a moment?" he cackled out, slowly creeping closer. "I already said I am not talking to you." I hissed out at him. before I could even finish what I was saying his smirk disappeared along with him. I couldn't event tell what was happening before I was slammed into the metal wall, his tan arms keeping me in place as I tired to get my barrings back. "Now listen here Miss Guard Dog. I need to strike a deal up with you. I don't think you realize how bad it is in there, and if you don't want to find out I suggest you listen to me." I stared up at him, his eyes piercing right though me. "Looks like I don't have much of a choice anymore Mr Big Scary Demon." I say, sarcasm dripping from my words "No. you really fucking don't Princess."
