Kara's P.O.V
- "Where the hell are we?" I groaned in pain as I slowly sat on a rock. We were in the middle of no where, not a soul in sight. I was to weak to fly and Mon-El was in the somewhat same condition. He shrugged, "I don't know. Earth."
I chuckled dryly, "Yeah." I looked around, "Let's just walk that way I guess." I nodded a random way, the night sky not giving us any sense of direction.
And I guess I chose right, cause eventually, we found a road, and we all know where roads lead...Somewhere that isn't here.
"Car!" I yelped as two small lights appeared down the road.
Mon-El instantly followed my lead in waving our arms in the air rapidly.
It was a silver SUV and let's just say that the family was very surprised when they pulled over.
They had two kids, and a mom and a dad jumped out of the car.
The pain in my legs was barely bearable, Mon-El was at the point of keeping me up right.
"Oh my god. Your-" the Dad seemed to think about it and not start fanboying over the moment of meeting me-"Get in the car. Kids, back seat!"
The kids scrambled into the very back, allowing us to sit down in the middle area.
"Where are we?" I muttered, closing my eyes as the car started moving once again.
"Just outside of National City." The mom answered, looking back at us. "Where should we take you?"
I winced, shifting in my seat. "Ugh." I looked at Mon-El, "CatCo, I can get us home from there." But then I remember that I've been gone for over a year. "Nevermind, I probably don't have a house, er-"
"You could stay with us!" The young boy in the backseat yelled.
"No, no. It's fine, we can find some where to-"
"Supergirl, its fine, its nearly midnight. If you need somewhere to sleep, we can provide." The mother explained in a soft voice, causing me to smile.
"Are you sure?"
She nodded, "Of course."
"I mean, I usually don't tell people my name, but I feel awkward if I'm going to be staying in your house and you don't know me. Just, don't tell anyone." I smiled a little, the mom nodded.
"I'm Kara, this is Mon-El." I pointed to the man next to me, who was holding his arm, a large burn mark was on his skin.
"I'm Jess, this is my husband Aaron, and Logan and Ashley in the backseat." She pointed to the kids behind us.
"Hi." Logan smiled as I looked back, my body ached in pain but I really tried to ignore it, but I think everyone noticed.
"Get some rest, we'll be there in an hour or so." Aaron looked at us through the rearview mirror.
I smiled, shifting a little bit again before leaning my head against my hand and slowly letting sleep take over.
-----------------
"Kara, were here." I slowly opened my eyes, meeting Mon-El's, he smiled shyly, opening the car door wider.
I slid off the seat and out of the car, my knees almost giving out, but Mon-El grabbed me.
The house was nice, it was a suburban home, two stories and looked really nice on the outside.
"Let's get you guys inside and settled. Are you hungry?" Jess looked at us, opening the front door, the kids running inside.
The thought of food made my stomach growl in agony. I hadn't eaten anything good or somewhat healthy in a long time.
I'm sure I've lost some weight, the suit barely fit anymore to be honest.
"I'm going to take that as a yes, I'll make some food and Aaron can get you guys settled in the guest room." The warmth of the home hit my skin and I couldn't help but hum.
"Are you a superhero too?" The little boy appeared, Logan. He was looking at Mon-El, who seemed a little confused.
"Ugh, no, no. But I'm an alien?" Mon-El shrugged, the little boy smiled.
"Cool." He seemed around the age of 9 or 10, the girl older, maybe 12.
Aaron appeared, "The room is upstairs, do you need help getting up the stairs?"
I shook my head, "No, no. I got it. Thank you though." I headed up the stairs, one at a time, my legs burning and pain shooting through them.
Mon-El had a hand on my waist incase I fell, "Just get situated and Jess will have the food in soon." Aaron opened the door, two twin beds with warm blankets and comfy beds and pillows sat before us.
Aaron left, leaving us by ourselves. "This looks like heaven. Maybe we're dead, maybe we're in heaven." I mumbled, slowly face planting onto one.
"I don't think your in heaven, that means I'm dead and I don't think I'm dead." A voice came from the door, the small boy was back again.
I laughed a little, "Well this is very nice, of you and your family."
He nodded, "if you don't mind me asking, where were you?"
"Some, ugh, very bad people took us." I looked down, "But we got out." I confirmed.
The boy furrowed his eyebrows, I think wanting to ask more questions, but his mom appeared, having two bowls of spaghetti. "It's just heated up from earlier if that's okay."
"No, no. It's amazing, thank you so much."
She nodded, leaving the room with the boy.
I instantly dug in, "Kara." Mon-El looked at me. "We escaped." He smiled.
I smiled too, "Yeah." I looked down. "Physically I guess."
Mon-El didn't speak from there, we ate, got situated in the room and went to sleep, the best sleep I've gotten in a very long time.
