Some people explained that Mel returned to the US. To fix some personal things, when the police (with the excuse that they needed a statement) apparently kidnapped him. Mel woke up in a San Francisco alley with several bruises and broken rear teeth, and missing all her money.
While in the United States he was invited to an Indian reservation to examine another hole similar to the one he had on his property, which a local tribe found.
This new hole was different, its interior wall was metallic as far as the eye could see, it seemed fabricated. The Indians said there was a source of heat inside the hole. They said it was a substance that looked and felt like ice, but it was hot and absorbed all the moisture around it. A friend of Mel put a piece of this hot ice on the wood stove in his cabin.
The cabin collapsed, because the strange warm ice had extracted all the moisture from the wood. They tried introducing a sheep into the hole, after a while they took it out. The sheep was dead and on the outside seemed to be normal, but when they opened it they discovered that it was cooked inside and with a kind of big throbbing tumor where the internal organs should have been.
They proceeded to open the inside of the tumor, and inside it was what looked like a fetus of a baby with big blue human eyes. Everyone present witnessed, Mel said he felt calm and compassionate, did not feel it was any malevolent being. Then the strange being jumped into the hole.
LEGEND OR REALITY?
Mel never returned to the place where the legend began. Before it was made public, the hole was known and used by the locals. But since the government took over the area, anyone who tries to find the hole will only find fences and signs of "forbidden passage". However, a television crew traveled to the alleged place and what they found was a large military presence.
Many people driving through the area swear they have seen a shadow emanating briefly from the site. It should also be noted that there are very active groups and communities that have spent a lot of time and effort searching for the hole without success.
Some people searched the internet for satellite images of the Manastash Ridge region and, interestingly, the section of the image that marked Mel, where the hole was supposed to be, was shown as a large empty white box covering the surrounding terrain . Mel made it clear that when he dies, he wants to be thrown into the mysterious hole.
