Rain poured upon Keru's black dress, her long wavy violet hair getting drenched along with her silver panther fur, she was different from her family, who was made up of either black, beige or bit of both fur color. Her silver blue eyes read over her mothers grave stone. Another year has passed by, this time her father was to busy once again and she took Kery, her younger beige panther sister inside. "Come Kery, you're going to get sick."

She followed Keru inside. "Why didn't father come again?"

She looked up to the glass garden doors being opened for her. "Because he is too busy for a piece of stone with a rotting body of our beloved mother buried under it." She stepped inside, letting go of her sisters paw and walked away.

Later that night, Keru walked in her black see through night gown, laying in the bed as the door opened. She smiled up sweetly. "Miuki. Its lovely to see you. Its been to long."

She kept her head bowed, her short purple hair barely covering her eyes. "Yes, sorry my Lady, but tonight I can not please you." Her voice shook. "I-I'm sorry. I am being sent off to another Kingdom."

She nodded, still smiling. "Its quite alright Miuki. You're job here is done. I will miss you dearly."

She smiled and bowed. "Yes Lady Keru, farewell." She closed the door.

Keru's smile immediately vanished into a saddening frown and sighed. She placed her hand between her breasts, where her heart would be. "This aching feeling... will it ever ceased to stop hurting? Thus loneliness once again takes me under its sorrowful wings and cover me in darkness." She laid back onto the pillows, staring up sadly. "Will love ever truly come to a rose? Or shall it remain only awed by its beauty from far away?"

The next morning, Keru was wearing her favourite red dress, long and flowing, she ate her breakfast formally as per usual, over hearing the one tutor explaining to her sister how to be proper at a table. She glanced up to her father from time to time, far away talking to the others about his lands and other stuff.

After a bit he cleared his throat. "Keru, can we talk?"

She paused, placing down her fork and looking up. "Yes father, what is it?"

His smile was very pleasing. "I am very excited to be telling you that destiny has chosen a perfect Guard for you." She was surprised, not all royals get chosen a Guard unless they have a great dangerous destiny ahead of them. "I must say they are definitely born at the top and perfect for you."

She shook her head to get back into reality. "A-A Guard? For thee? Father I'm not so sure." She frowned. "A Guard for one such as me, to be in such great danger? A Guard is an omen of danger."

He leaned forward, putting his arms up on the table to bridge his chin on. "My Keru, if a Guard is what destiny has chosen for you, then by means you must have one. You will be in danger with and with them regardless."

She tapped her claw on the table. "Father, elbows off the dining table."

He chuckled, removing his arms off. "Just like your..." He paused then got up. "I will be in my studies now." And walked off as his butler took his plate.

Keru glanced down saddened, since her mothers death, he will never say her name, nor the word mother nor ever talk about her let alone visit her grave. She sighed as one of the butlers walked over. "Miss, we must prepare you for the ball tonight, where your Guard will be represented to you."

She sighed and glanced up, sadness in her eyes. "Does thou have to go through such troubles of a corset? Because tonight I prefer not to be crushed." She got up and headed to her room. "This dress is just fine butler, I prefer some make-up then I'll head to the garden till such a time comes to be on my way."
