Madison's POV-
God this boy is horrible at flirting.
"Hey. You know that it's pretty obvious that you like me you know that right?"
He blushed but responded, "I know. My parents keep pushing me to find a girl."
"Well I can't believe I'm saying this but I kinda like you. You're okay, just terrible at flirting."
"Uh... thanks?"
"Anytime. I'll text you."I continued my day and went to work. I drove to Desmond Publishing Company. I work there as an editor. I pushed open the door to the building. It's interior design consisted of mostly white furniture and black lights. Very modern.
"Madison."
"Maya Grove, haven't seen you in forever. How have you been?"
Maya's POV-
Truthfully, it wasn't going well. I haven't seen Madison since high school. We were best friends until something happened. And that something was a guy, named Alex. Alex Mann. He was the hottest guy in the school. Madison was his girlfriend, but I stole him. We have never been friends since and never will be. But I responded anyway. I had to. It's like she stares holes into my brain.
Madison's POV-
I could never forgive Maya after what she did. She made Alex turn on me. She was a two faced bitch and will always be one.
"Pretty good," she said.
"Cool. Bye then."
I was so glad to get away from her. I continued to walk to my office and ran into Brian. From the moment I met him, I knew that he looked familiar.
"Um, hey? What are you doing here?"
"I needed to see you."
"Let's go in my office. It's more private there."
I lead Brian to my office. It was a reasonable size. It included a desk and 2 bookcases. My desk was covered with papers, nearly all falling off. I cleared them off and sat down.
"Okay, so what do you want to talk to me about?" I asked.
"So... um... my identity," he paused, "I'm Alex Mann."
I was shocked. I knew he looked familiar but Alex?
"Wait really?"
"Um... yea. I've actually always like you. More than Maya. She forced me to, so I broke up with her."
"Oh. But how do you look so different?"
He laughed. "I just have colored contact lenses and I dyed my hair blonde."
"Well then, Alex, I'll ask my boss if I can get off work early and maybe we can hang at my place."
Brian's AKA Alex's POV-
"That sounds wonderful. Just text me when you're off." I smiled.
I can't believe I just did that. It's true that I'm Alex Mann. It's just that... I've always loved Madison.. I drove home and hope flooded my mind. I hopped in the shower and actually washed AND conditioned my hair. The bathroom was steamy as usual because I use really hot water and I never turn on the fan. I dressed and styled my hair so it was a little nicer than usual. I grabbed a sweatshirt and pulled it over my head. I grabbed a bottle of cologne and sprayed a little, then walked through.
Hopefully she likes the smell. It's pine. And she likes the outdoors so cross my fingers.
Madison❤️Me: Hey! You get off?
Madison❤️: Yea, I'm off now. Come over at 3pm.
Me: Okay
The next hour was pure stress. I couldn't stop thinking about what could happen. My mind raced as I drove to her apartment. I knocked on the door. She opened without any hesitation.Well that's a good sign.I walked in and grabbed her hand, pulling her to the couch. We sat and talked for hours. Laughing, talking, watching Netflix. It was what I dreamed of. Exactly back to normal.
"So why did you lie to me?"
"I had to. I have to show you something."
