Hey guys, Silena here! I decided to do an appreciation update (and fanfiction) for our favorite Athena kid for her birthday!

(Happy birthday, Mom! ^-^)

Anyways...

Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena and Fredrick Chase, ran away from home when she was seven years old because her father married a woman that didn't like Annabeth. Never did she mean to, but Annabeth, being a demigod, attracted monsters to the Chase's doorstep and put the entire family in danger. She hated being blamed for this, but not only that, she would wake up in the middle of the night screaming because there were spiders covering every inch of her floor. Spiders sent by Arachne. They would disappear as soon as her step-mom came in, and Mrs. Chase refused to call for Annabeth's father. Even the bites she would get would fade by time morning came around.

So Annabeth ran away from home and was guided by Athena. She was all by herself until Luke and Thalia found her in an alley, virtually defenseless besides a mortal hammer. When discovered, she almost bashed Luke's head in with the hammer, thinking he was a monster. After calming down, Luke gave her the bronze knife to better protect herself against the monsters. Then he promised he and Thalia would be a better family to her than her real family.

Together, the three travelled along the East Coast, making hideouts to rest in for periods of time before running into Grover, who then led the group to Camp Half-Blood. However, this didn't go without a few wrong turns, one particular one being into a cyclops cave where everyone besides Annabeth was captured. The cyclops had Thalia, Luke, and Grover hanging over a pot and tried to lure Annabeth to him by imitating her father's voice. Annabeth didn't fall for it and stabbed his foot hard with the knife Luke gave her, then untied Thalia and let her take care of everything else.

As they made their way out of the cyclops cave, they had been in there long enough for the monsters they had outrun to catch up to them. The four ran their way to camp, and we all know what happens next - Thalia sacrifices herself against the hoard of monsters, Zeus takes pity on her, and she is turned into the well known Pine tree that created the magical barrier around camp that protected everyone inside from monsters.

So today, my lovely campers, I'm going to bring you a short fanfiction that is 1,070 words long about Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth when the three of them first met in the point of view of our beloved Annabeth Chase.

------------------

I peeked around the corner to see if any of the monsters had followed me. There was always at least one, if not two that followed me. The second one was normally a small spider, but either way, it still scared me because of my experiences with them.

I truly dislike my step-mom for never telling Dad about it. Three days in a row was enough for me. She was the reason I ran away from home in the first place. She and Dad would get mad at me every time a monster appeared at out doorsteps. It wasn't my fault they came. I convinced myself it was the monster's noses that were the issue. Them and the spiders could smell me from miles away, which really irritated me.

Thankfully, there were no monsters following me that I could see.

Key words; "that I could see." I could definetly hear them, though.

I glanced up at the large red, white, and black sign that stood off in the distance a bit, on the other side of the fence. Rich man Fireworks. No, that's not right. Richmond Ironworks. That sounded right. It fit the scene as well - the factory that stood to the left of the sign.
