Escape From The Studio

Brian's P.O.V.

June 4th

After we played Rock AM Ring in Germany I was ready to start drinking again. I hadn't called Willow for a few weeks and it bothered me but she knew we would busy until Ozzfest. I was sitting at one of the tables at the field party we were having before we headed to another country. I was just observing until a guy that looked really familiar came up to me. "Aren't you Synyster Gates?" His voice was raspy, probably from all the singing he had done. I nodded taking a chug of my beer. "I am and you are?" He stuck his hand out at me, "I'm William DuVall I'm the lead vocals and rhythm guitar for Alice In Chains." I was shocked to even see them wanting to perform after Layne's death. God knows I wouldn't want to if any of the guys died. "I've heard a lot of good things about you from Layne before his passing. He really wanted to meet you all." I smiled at him setting my beer down. "Thanks I know we really appreciate that. Do you want to meet the rest of the band?" William smiled at me, "I would love to but we're fixing to start. If you want to watch us you can. I'll see you guys later!" He walked off towards the many stages that had bands playing on them. I just watched his figure disappear. "Hey Syn, who was that?" Jimmy appeared beside me with another beer as I was finishing mine. I shook my head, "just one of the other bands. What's up?" Jimmy shook his head, "were going to watch Guns N' Roses in a little bit. You coming with?" I looked at Jimmy like he was crazy, "what kinda of question is that? That's like asking me am I going to watch Metallica. Let's go and head over there I'll tell you about who just came up to me." Jimmy looked at me like a little kid, "who was it?" He asked me as we walked towards the stage Guns N' Roses was at.

June 6th

Willow and I had texted back and forth a lot. She knew I would be busy with band stuff but I texted her whenever I could. I shoved my phone in my pocket walking towards the stage Metallica was playing at with Matt and Jimmy. Matt nudged me making me almost choke on my beer. "So are you two ready to watch them cause guys I'm totally fan girlin' right now." Jimmy and I busted out laughing, I was literally chocking on my beer. "Well yeah but you admitting that just made this a thousand times better!" Jimmy laughed holding his sides. I shook my head at Matt, well of course. I do have to agree with Jimmy there though cause I can't believe you would actually admit that." Matt punched Jimmy's shoulder, "on a serious note. Let's try talking about Avalon and Willow again." Jimmy and I took a sip of our beers together. "Shoot man, let's get this over with so we can enjoy Metallica." Jimmy told Matt, Matt looked at me I nodded vigorously. "I agree," I sighed telling Matt. "Whatever, have you even told Avalon at all about your heart condition Jimmy or the girls period?" Jimmy looked away from Matt, staring straight forward. "No I haven't, I plan on it after we get done touring and are all back in California. I have plenty of my medicine to last until then." Matt nodded then looked at me. "Are you even going to tell Willow about Michelle? You WERE engaged to her, you at least owe her something." I shook my head, "I don't owe Michelle shit. I love Willow, I have for a long time I'm not going to talk to her and create drama for mine and Luca's relationship. She's Val's TWIN SISTER for crying out loud. Willow is really important to me I'm not going to do anything to mess that up. How about Elektra bro, don't think we didn't notice all those bruises on her thighs and shit." Jimmy punched Matt shoulders, "yeah! Ava told me about those, she said you were super rough with her when y'all hooked up again." I looked at Jimmy then looked at Matt. He shrugged putting his hand behind his neck, "Elektra was gorgeous before but now she's even more gorgeous I couldn't control myself. I'm a man I can't help it." Jimmy and I started laughing again as we reached the stairs to go backstage. I could see Zacky and Johnny watching Metallica perform. Metallica was done with their set until James went back on stage. Everyone in the crowd was screaming Metallica over and over again so they did an encore. After the first song was done they took a short break. James went into the mic, "I think I look better. I look better than normal. Alright did you enjoy your evening?" The crowd started screaming then James smiled. "We're definitely having some fun up here. Um we've got some friends on tour with us we gonna bring them out to sing with us on the next song. So Avenged Sevenfold get on out here alright?" We all walked out as a group, Zacky and I stood at one mic while Matt, Jimmy, and Johnny walked to another one. Jimmy bowed down to Lars then went to the mic. We all literally shook every member of Metallicas hands before we went to separate mics. "Your going to sing some back vocals for us and you can sing too." James told the crowd, "Avenged Sevenfold yes," James started strumming while he spoke, "pick a microphone any one, not this one." The crowd laughed a bit, " you guys know the Ramones?" The crowd started screaming again then James laughed. "Well their not here but we're doing a cover. Sing well guys, ready 1...2...3..." Once we got done singing back up for Metallica the guys and I walked off stage together. James came up to us after they were done. "If any of you want to come drink with us while we're touring together just give me a heads up. See you losers later!" James said walking back towards where his tour bus was. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket sending Luca a text. I was really happy that Matt let me into the band. Everything we were doing was to be able to measure up to them. Matt was sitting at a table doodling in his book. I walked up behind him patting his shoulder, "Well hey M. Shadows?" "What's up dude?" Matt said as he set his pen down. "Thanks for letting me be in this fucking band. Cause Metallica, playing with them makes my fucking dream come true." I raised my beer in the air, "Had the best time in the whole fucking world with my best friends." Matt just shook his head, "why do you thank me you freak." "Cause you let me into the fucking band back in 1999." Johnny, Zacky, and Jimmy all welcomed my hug. I hugged them all back, "fucking seven years ago." Matt said as he kept doodling, "you guys are my best friends and I'm having the best time in the fucking world." "Yeah!" Zacky, Johnny, and Jimmy said together. "I'm a little too close to Johnny right now, but that's okay." We all started laughing together enjoying our lives.
