When I woke up Christmas morning,
her head was buried in my arm,
we were huddled so close together,
we kept each other safe from harm.
She was already wide awake,
and she looked up at me with a smile,
'merry Christmas,' she whispered,
and I felt time stop for a while.
An hour later, in fuzzy socks and t-shirts,
we stood in the kitchen drinking champagne,
eight o'clock was probably too early for alcohol,
but we were so young and vain.
Ocean Eyes looked at up me with mischief,
so deep, blue and clear,
as she placed a strawberry between my teeth,
she was the headlights and I was the deer.
She stood on the tips of her toes,
and bit off half the fruit,
then her lips decided to find something else,
and they chose mine as their loot.
I giggled and pushed her off me,
'save it for later, when the champagne's worn off',
she downed the rest of the champagne bottle,
and pretended to look cross.
'It's Christmas, let me have my fun,' she pouted,
and straddled me to the floor,
her hands felt like velvet,
as they gently caressed my core.
I took her wrists and shook my head,
'it's early in the morning and you're already drunk',
she kissed my neck in response,
I gave in and dropped my glass with a clunk.
We stayed like that for a while,
her white dress thrown halfway across the room,
until the time came when we got too hungry,
and we stopped to get food.
'We'll get back to that later, right?' I asked,
now I was drunker than her,
but I wasn't drunk off champagne,
I was drunk off her.
