107.5
The scale wobbles between 107 and 108, as I hold my stomach in my hands, pinching the fat between my fingers. My hands move up to my collarbones, pinching the skin above them. My gaze lingers on my thighs rubbing together as I step off the scale that ruins me.
I still don't have collarbones. My thighs still touch. The scale still reads a number over 95.
I'm still fat and scars.

I hate April Fool's Day. Staring down at the mess of baby dolls that fell out of my locker, I sigh heavily, my mood having aalready been sored by my lack of weight loss evident in my body as well as the number. I hate numbers. Yet I count them off every night on my arms.
"APRIL FOOL'S!" I know immediately who it is that's screaming in my ear and I fix my face before turning around to face her. Terra stands smiling, a piece of her black hair sticking out of her hijab, as always. "Day, why aren't you laughing? This is funny!" She pokes me in the stomach. squish.
"I don't get it. Why baby dolls?" Bending down, I pick one of them up, inspecting it. It's fat too, but still more attractive then you. That voice that fuels me shouts out its cruel words from its corner in my mind.
Terra rolls her eyes, like I'm being stupid. "Someone is turning 16 today, Day!" Oh, yeah.
---------
I breathe a sigh of relief as the bus rolls up to my house, and Terra and I step out of the big yellow machine. All day long, I endured and watched pranks of all different variaties. Some cruel, some friendly. Some were genius, some had been used since the beginning of time. Like how all the toilet paper was taken out of every stall in every girl's bathroom, including the staff bathrooms.
"Hey, you're going tonight, right?" Terra asks me, meaning the annual April Fool's Bash that Jaylee throws every year. She's so skinny.
"Yeah." I tell her, unlocking my front door and handing her the sticky not my mom had left on it. "You'll come over before, right? To get ready?"
"Always. Hey, listen to this one: Dayella, I'm going to be late coming home tonight; I have an April Fool's meeting to attend at my boss' house. Don't stay up too late, Love, Mom. How long do you think she's gonna pretend she isn't having an affair with her boss?"
I snort and shake my head, placing my keys in the bowl and going down the stairs to my room. As soon as the door is open, I throw down my book bag and launch myself onto my bed. "Who cares? Must sleep."
"Watch out!" Without opening my eyes, I roll to my left, giving Terra room to land on the bed herself. Together, we curl into balls and fall asleep.

Day's dream
The ground is wet and dark, like clay. There are mirrors all around, blocking her in. She's trapped by herself, and her image. She has gaunt pale cheeks, and wildly curly blonde hair, her eyes blue. Every bone sticks out, visible through her naked skin. Seeing herself, she smiles. Her bony hand moves to her stomach, pinching. Her smile grows when her fingers find nothing to pinch. Her lips crack. "I am so skinny!"
