Sometimes people do what they have to. They know they have to do whatever it takes if they are going to survive in this cold, cruel world. Me? I'm no exception to this statement. My life is flat out messy about 98% of the time. When your parents are out of your life at the age of eighteen, you learn a few things. The world doesn't revolve around you. The world doesn't care if it chews you up and spits you back out. No matter what happens in your life, the world keeps on moving. You also learn that not everyone you meet is as genuine as they may seem. You are forced into this world having to be labeled as a warrior, fighting for your well being. It's not fair, but whoever told you life is fair hasn't really lived.

My name is Hudson Brody. I'm twenty one years old and I've already faced more than some thirty year olds. I was thrown out on the streets which meant I had to find a job immediately. Kurt Vore came into my life and offered me just that. I'm a professional stalker. I was trained and tested in ways that you can't even fathom. My task is to simply lure my target into a relationship. I am supposed to gain their trust and find out everything there is to know about my target for Kurt and his clients benefit. I lure them into a trap. I know what you're thinking. It's pretty heartless to lead someone on like that. It's my means of living though. I do it because I have to. I'm good at what I do and I've had a one hundred percent success rate. I outdo people who have been in this company for years. I don't get attached and I get what Kurt wants. Someone has to do it.

"Hudson, Kurt wants to see you now."

I nodded and followed his assistant into the dimly lit room. Kurt wasn't a bad guy. He was just like me. Life dealt him an unfortunate hand and he did what he had to do to make his life worth living.

"What's up Kurt," I questioned. I had just finished a task for him a week ago. It was exhausting but we got much more out of it than we had originally planned.

Kurt stared at his assistant Abby, waiting for her to leave. She didn't know the business we were apart of. She had to sign a contract of privacy and secrecy. She nodded without saying a word and closed the door behind her.

"Have a seat kid."

I sat down in a chair placed in front of his desk. I licked my lips. It was a nervous habit I had acquired. Kurt intimidated me more than my own father. He had a face that was hardened with no traces of emotion whatsoever. He always had stubble on his face and bags under his eyes like he hadn't slept in weeks.

"You finished your last task with excellent timing and precision. We thought that girl would take months to crack. It took you less than one month."

I shrugged. When Kurt spoke I rarely spoke back unless it was a question that demanded an answer.

"I have another task for you if you're up for the challenge. This one is probably our most difficult case though. I knew as soon as it was brought to my attention though that you were the one for the job."

"I'm game. Tell me more," I insisted eagerly. The more difficult the task, the more I got paid.

He slapped his hand on a file folder on top of his desk and slid it over towards me. He tapped his finger on the folder.

"This right here is Taylor Swift. Every background information you need to know about her is in this folder. There is no time limit to this task because it will be very difficult to achieve."

My eyes widened some and I looked down at the file he was tapping.

"You don't mean the celebrity Taylor Swift do you?"

"Come on Hudson. So what she's a celebrity? It's about time you started on these cases. You knew it was coming."

I popped my knuckles and stared at my hands. I didn't know much about her. I knew she was targeted a lot by people. For some reason they despised her.

"I hope this isn't harmful to her. I'm not putting anyone in danger. It was part of our agreement when I went full time."

He rubbed his temples and sighed. He was starting to lose his temper with me.

"Are you turning soft on us? Now if you can't handle this..."

"No I'm in."

He let go of his head and sat up satisfied.

"Perfect. Any other questions?"

"What exactly am I digging for?"

"This is why I suggested you for the case. It's a blind mission. You'll figure out what you need to know. In the mean time, get close to this girl. I want her falling madly in love with you."

I nodded. I didn't like blind missions. I've only had one other case like this. When I don't know what I'm digging for it makes my job a lot more difficult.

"You will only have tonight to go over that file. You meet her tomorrow. It's a very confidential case and a very important client so don't mess this up."

"I won't let you down."

He smirked and stuck an unlit cigarette between his lips.

"Oh I know you won't."
