His heart dropped. "Wh-what?" He asked Sally, his mother, who was just as as heartbroken seeing her son.

"I'm sorry Percy. Our lease is up. We have to move. I found an apartment in New York City."

That wasn't the real reason. It was Gabe. Percy's step-father. He saw how close the two boys, Jason and Percy, were getting. He was homophobic and decided that moving was the best choice.

Percy nodded slowly. "When do we leave?" He asked.

"Tonight. I packed a bag for you already. Movers are gonna pack everything for us tomorrow. I'm sorry." Percy could tell she really meant it. That she was sorry.

He wiped away a tear from his cheek. "I-I'll go say bye to Jason then." Percy led the apartment and ran to Jason's apartment.

His older sister Thalia opened the door. She had taken a break from her vacation to help her family move. Percy didn't know that.

"Hey Perce, come on in." He noticed her voice sounded sad. He gave her a hug cuz that's what he does ever time he sees her. She was like a sister to him. "Thanks Thal." He said. She smiled.

Percy walked in and saw boxes. A lot of them. Everywhere. He made his way to Jason's room. Jason looked at him sadly. "We're moving." He said sadly. Percy nodded. "We are too."

"Where?" Jason asked, hopeful. "New York." Percy said. Jason physically drooped. "Washington State."

They both started to cry. They hugged each other tight. 7 years of friendship. All of it will come tumbling down after they move. They won't be able to stay in contact.

They looked each other in eye and kissed. Even for 11 year olds who had no experience knew it was amazing.

They said goodbye and parted ways. When Percy was out of sight, they both touched their lips with theirs fingers, warmth still lingering.

What they both didn't know, was that Thalia was watching with a smile the whole time. "I knew it." She whispered before going back to taping boxes.
