Lilianne's POV

I had just arrived at the town's hospital with Zander's overly sized 'Get Well card'. Parking my car at the back entrance of the hospital to avoid any confrontations with the papparazzi. A nurse already waited for me at the back door, moments like these is when I appreciate my family name. Walking to the elevator and pressing the button for the second floor. I waited in the elevator next to a very pregnant lady. When I reached my floor I scurried off into the direction of Zander's room. I saw Dr.Penza walking down the hallway with a nurse by his side, he was making his way to me, so I decided to wait for him.

Dr.Penza: "Well hello Lilianne, how are you doing ?"

Lilianne: "Dr.Penza I am doing okay and I've come to visit Zander while bringing him the card that the school faculty and students signed."

Dr.Penza: "Ahh Mr.Segovia is asleep right now he did not take the news of his paralysis too lightly so he had to be sedated."

Lilianne: "It's okay, I'll wait until he wakes up."

Dr.Penza: "Very well then Lilianne if anything just press the call button."

Lilianne: "Thank Dr.Penza"

With that he walked away and I headed to Zander's room. Turning the knob to open the door seemed a little less nerve wracking than yesterday. Peeking inside to make sure Zander is asleep, making sure he was I slowly walked inside. When I noticed the recliner by the window I went to it and sat down. I was just finishing my chemistry homework when Zander started to wake up. Putting my books aside I got up and walked over to Zander's bed. What shocked me the most were the words that spilled out of his mouth.

Zander: "What the hell are you doing here Miss Universe?"

His comment made my blood boil, especially after I basically saved his life.

Zander: "I said what are YOU doing here?"

Lilianne: "Well since none of your friends or family is here I decided to be nice and visit."

Zander: "Well newsflash Ms.Queen Bee they are coming soon, so you should leave."

Lilianne: " No I am staying because I promised your unconcious body that I will be your friend and help you."

Zander: "I've got plenty of friends that will come and help me, so if you just leave you'll be doing both of us a favor."

Lilianne: "Fine I'll leave, but I'll be back tomorrow."

I walked to the recliner, shoved all my books inside my messenger bag and left his room feeling hurt. From the beginning of the day I knew that no one was going to come visit Zander. His parents would rather travel the world instead of being home with their son. His friends rather party then stop by and say 'hello'. Reaching my car I unlocked it, started the ignition and drove home feeling a little broken.

Zander's POV

Now that Lilianne left I felt all alone. I spent hours just staring at the door thinking someone will walk through. Night time came around and now I regretted sending Lilianne away. She was trying to be a nice person and I acted like a douche bag towards her. I would always get some type of hope when someone walked through the door but it would die when another nurse walked in. Visiting hours stopped and not one freaking person came to visit. I know how ny friends are self-centered, party animals, but would it kill them to waste atleast ten minutes of their lives to visit. I didn't even bother with my parents anymore because they don't care about me. Soon afterwards I fell asleep crying and empty.

When I woke up the next morning, the recliner by the window was being occupied by a female dressed in white, sitting there just singing. From what I make out of the figure it is that a young woman with beautiful brown flowy hair accompained by her melodious voice. The emotion in her voice knocke the breathe of out me. When she turned towards the window is when I saw Lilianne's face.

Zander: "You have an amazing voice Lilianne."

She quickly snapped her head in my direction, which ceased the beautiful song.

Lilianne: "I'm sorry if I woke you, I just came to check up on you and I'll be leaving now."

Zander: "No please stay, I need the company since it's pretty clear no one is going to come and visit the crippled guy."

Lilianne: "Sorry Zander and I promised you that I would visit you no matter what."

Zander: "Thank you and I want to apologize for my irrational behavior yesterday."

Lilianne: "Apology accepted and don't worry it's all forgotten."

I felt better and happier whe she accepted my apology. She left for a few minutes to go buy us some food at Johnny Rockets. For a moment when I saw her, she brought a spark of happiness in me. Half an hour later she came in with a bag full of food and two cups.

Lilianne: "I didn't know what you like so I ordered both of us the same thing."

Zander: "It's cool as long as I get food."

With that both of us settled into a silence as we ate our burgers and milkshakes. Afterwards we made idle conversation, until she left for a drama club meeting, promising me to come back tomorrow after school.

Well fellow readers another update. Sorry it took so long,school is giving me anxiety and it makes me sleep. Anyways next chapter will have some time jump so we can get this story to the good parts.
