"Honey I'm home." I called Tegan on the phone and told her to come outside and help with the groceries.

Immediately she came out the door with her phone still to pressed to her ear.....wearing my bathrobe?

It was tied around her body and her hair was wrapped up in a towel. "Did you buy me something?"

"Um." I grabbed as many bags as I could, "Yeah. I bought you a robe. Get out of mine." I said sarcastically.

She ignored my comment and looked inside the car at Maya asleep then grabbed the rest of the bags that were left.

As I came into the house and walked over to the kitchen I sat the bags on the table and turned on the light.

"Did she ever tell you what happened? Why she called? And where the heck is her mother?"

Looking down at my phone, the time said 10:30 p.m. Still had work tomorrow, so I had to be in bed by eleven.  Feels so great to be a twenty-two year old with a bed time.

"No," I said after a minute of zoning out.

"So, what are you going to do?"

A deep sigh escaped from my lips as we finished putting up the last bit of groceries.

"Honestly Teg, I'm just going to be here for her. As long as she wants me here; I'm here."

The sound of a car door closed from outside and soon Maya walked in with her suitcase and the picture in her hands.

She gave me a fake smile and closed the front door, then walked down the hall towards the guest room without a word. I didn't know whether to be thankful and feel good about the fact that she knew exactly where it was, or to feel broken because things like this happen so often.

"Goodnight to you too." Tegan said after her.

"Oh, shut up and take my robe off."
She raised her eyebrows in surprise and brought her hands down as if she was about to untie it.
I didn't realize how sexual that sounded until it came out.

"If you say so." She smirked.

Rolling my eyes, I turned off the light in the kitchen and walked around her to head to my room. "Goodnight."

--------------------------------------------

With everything that was going on, I didn't know if I could handle a whole day of work. Maya seemed completely mute and wouldn't tell me what was going on, and last I checked, a very important date was coming up. Tegan's birthday.

For her to be a Pisces, she is nothing like how they are described.

Selfless, and willing to help others? Well, she's willing to help me. But I don't know about other people.
Likes to be alone?
...Tegan is at my house more than I am.
Likes sleeping?
I think that applies to everyone, at some point.
Likes romance?
Well. I don't know... a part of her is just like my Mother. Always so caught up in my love life. But when it comes to her, I think she can be a bit of a sweetheart.

I checked my phone again.
10:58 p.m.

Turning off Divergent, I pulled my covers back, got in and spent those last two minutes thinking about Nicholas, then soon enough I drifted off to sleep.

-------------------------------------------

I hid in the closet and locked the door from the inside. My breath was shaky and it was much much harder to breathe in this closed space. Tears kept running down my eyes while the cut from my hand kept gushing out blood.
I got as far away from the door as I could.

He's coming.

The sound of his footsteps grew closer and closer. He laughed dragging something on the ground, the sound causing my sensitive ears to scream out in pain.

He kept laughing. And laughing. And laughing.
"I know you're in there KAT." The door knob started to twist.

My heart sped up as I looked around for a way to get out. I was stuck. In a freaking closet.

Feeling the floor and holding my breath, I closed my eyes and bit my lip to stop the sound of my cries from coming out.

Then suddenly, everything stopped. The sound, his laughing. It all stopped.
The only sound I could hear was my heart beating so hard against my chest.

The door swung open and he stood there with a chainsaw in his hands. His white shifty eyes looked hungry, his fingers abnormally long, and one side of his face covered in stitches.

I trembled as he came closer and brought his hand up to my mouth. "Shhhh.."
He dragged his fingers across my face ripping apart my skin, as I screamed in pain.

*Ring Ring Ring Ring.*
"Ghuahh." I sat up panting, my heart pounding.
*Ring Ring Ring Ring.*
While catching my breathe I felt around for my phone in the darkness.

Finally I found it.

"Hello?" Thank God I pressed the Answer button considering I can't even see.

"Hi, Katarina. It's Suzanne. I was calling to let you know that you don't have to come in for work today."
