-WARNING SOME KIND OF GROSS STUFF-
Everyone hopped out of the car and walked into the glass doors of the Epic Center. Everything was pretty awkward between the group, mostly because Dean had spent the car ride explaining to Cas that just because they kissed doesn't mean they were gonna get married. However, Dean subtly slipped in a few "wait a couple years" in there, which seemed to brighten up Cas.
Alec held up a badge at the door. From what Dean could tell, he was either police or just so happened to work here, but police seemed more likely. The security guard nodded and let them in. The elevator was cramped, so cramped that Dean could feel Cas breathing down his neck. Thankfully, the door reached the 7th floor, and they all walked out. The world seemed to sway again, like it did in the bathroom where he met Alec.
Swaying from side to side, gray metal tilting and the ground seeming closer, closer, until he felt it underneath his chin. The carpet was soft, he thought as he blinked away his consciousness.
--------
He woke up in Magnus's house AGAIN, but this time the house was empty, as far as Dean could tell. For once, the red walls and gold décor were starting to get annoying (Sorry Magnus).
Dean stood up, despite his ringing headache, and walked to the kitchen to grab his keys and head to the nearest gas station for some food.
They weren't there.
Of course, thought Dean, mentally slapping himself on the forehead. They were still out.
Embarassed, he filtered through the fridge in search for good snack, maybe some, pie, but, of course, no pie.
"Sam thinks you've been poisoned."
Dean spun around. "Jesus Christ, Cas! Could you NOT?"
Cas shrugged. "Sorry."
Dean rubbed his forehead. "And, I am not poisoned by some freak who wants to kill of people. I am fine."
Although, it would explain a lot-
No. Dean was fine.
"You're not fine. I can see it in your eyebrow."
"Dammit, Cas! Why can't you trust me?"
"Why trust an untrustworthy person?"Cas' eyebrows squished together for a millisecond.
"Looks like we seem to be having a domestic?" said a third voice.
Barachiel.
"Stay out of this," Cas said, frowning at the girl. "Please leave."
A bag of popcorn appeared in the girl's palm. "Why leave when the show's just getting started?"
The door opened and Alec and Magnus filed in, Sammy behind them, carrying groceries and a laptop bag.
Barachiel smiled. "Went shopping, did we? Got some nice... pie?"
Barachiel cackled. "Enjoy!" She said, and then disappeared from their sight.
Dean shook his head. "Let's just ignore the evil 7-year-old Archangel for now, and focus on the work."
"We think you've been poisoned, and so was the girl at the office building and two others that happened earlier in the month, both patients at the hospital," said Sam pulling out the cherry pie they had gotten while grocery shopping and handed it to Dean, along with a plastic fork.
Dean stuck his fork in the pie. "We've got pictures of all the dead bodies, who seemed to have their eyes missing. We believe they start with the poisoning, and when the eyes get, um, soft, they remove them from the skull.
None of this fits anything we've seen before, so we have reason to believe that someone is feeding the eyes to them, bit by bit, until they are strong enough to be released."
Dean nodded and picked up bite of the pie.
Seeing something out of the corner of his eye, Dean examined the bite he was about to take.
There, disgustingly, was an eyeball, black and rotten, contaminating the otherwise perfectly good pie. "Found the eyes," said Dean, disgusted. He picked out the eye with a different fork and watched it splat onto the table like liquid. There, in the eye, was a piece of paper that was in really bad, kindergarten handwriting.
You're next, sweetpea! Darling's getting hungry.
