A girl of ten returned to her clan's property after running an errand for her parents. She expected to see her younger sister waiting at the entrance, but her sister was no where to be found. Instead, the young Okiayu saw multiple smoke clouds above the area of her clan's property in Shizen. She dropped the bag of bread and sprinted into the entrance to find houses burned.

"Mom! Dad! Aiko!" screamed the girl as she ran passed many of her clan's burnt houses.

The young Okiayu found herself staring at the new sight of her house. It was the first house to be burned down to ashes. The girl walked over the ashes and eventually saw what looked like her parent's corpses. She was unable to find anything that resembled Aiko, so the young Okiayu assumed that her sister's body turned into ashes already. She crouched next to her parent's corpses and let the tears stream down her face.

"Mom...Dad...Aiko..." mumbled the young Okiayu as she stared at the burnt, lifeless bodies of her parents that laid near her crouched body.

The girl stood and wailed. She screamed and cried at the clouds, asking why such an event would occur.

"How does it feel? How does it feel to finally feel the loss of loved ones?" mocked a girl of fourteen as she stared down at the helpless child from a scorched Okiayu Clan pedestal.

The orphaned Okiayu turned to glare at her adopted older sister.

"How could you do this Emiko? We took you in and cared for you after your family perished!" yelled the lone survivor of her clan's massacre as tears streamed down her face.

Emiko only grinned at the helpless Okiayu and vanished, leaving only a cloud that slowly dispersed. Many people arrived to the scene to find the lonely Okiayu crying to herself. One of the first of many people to arrive was Rinn, a former teammate of her parents. The young man pulled the girl into a hug and patted her.

"It'll be alright, Rinny's here to protect you now."

. . .

"Unlock your bedroom door this instant young lady!" screamed the mother of the stoic girl who recently turned eleven.

The beautiful child ignored her mother's angry, pathetic threats and continued to pack her bag with a few essentials such as clothing, cash, food, and water. She gathered the items before she blocked her bedroom door with her dresser.

"The Joten Clan is now the top clan in Shizen and you want to ruin all that? You stupid girl! It's a good thing you're pretty, because your stupidity would get you no where!" yelled the father of the young Joten as he tried to kick in the door.

She said it plain and simple, just like the truth. That monotone voice echoed, "And the wealth you have claimed is a good thing for you, father, considering that your strength wouldn't get you anywhere." (A/N: These two lines are credited to Sib11276. Thank you m8.)

"I will give you three times the beating this time, you tramp!" threatened her father.

Once everything was packed in her satchel, she opened her window. The girl of eleven felt the cold wind brush against her skin, which caused goosebumps to appear. The young Joten, and once soon to be Heiress of The Joten Clan, could smell the wet rain that ended up being blown into her face. The girl slowly started to crawl out her window, trying to keep a firm grip on the vines that grew outside her window. The dirtied green vines felt wet, which was expected, but what was not expected was her slip up. It was literally a slip up. The  young Joten found herself clinging onto dear life as her feet slipped, trying to gain back the traction her shoes gifted her. However, no traction was found due the wall being soaked. It was a surprise to the young girl that she even managed to have a bit of traction when she climbed out the window.
