Chapter Three, Love Is Confusing But Great

I wake up with same thoughts as when I fell asleep. Joey.
Why is he so cute!
"Opal, why are you up so early?""I wasn't tired." I realize I was sitting up from the nightmare I had.
Joey decided to leave the camp and go back to other side!
I don't know why but it made me so upset that when I woke up I am so so happy it was a dream!
It say that it is only five so I get up and walk outside the sun is just starting to rise and I see someone sitting by the fire.
My heart skips and I see it is Joey.
Before I can relise I am walking over to him.
"Hi Joey." My voice still sounds like sleep and I see Joey jumps a little bit but i could not tell I must of scared him.
"What are you following me?""No I just wasn't tired. Can I sit?" Joey moves over and I sit down. My heart races and I see that there is only five inches between us on the bench. I want to get closer but I know he wont like it but it's worth a try.
I scoot over a little and Joey turns and notices. "What are you doing?" He ask. I feel myself blush and look down.
"Why are you acting so weird around me? I do not see this with Zoey or Felix or the teachers or anyone." All I do is stare back at him when he sighs.
"I'm just nervous about the new camp." I excuse."don't be."
What? Joey is being nice?
I look at him and he is study my face his eyes travel from my eyes down to my nose to my lips then back.
His voice gets more quiet with a tone that I did not hear in it before the rude sharp tone it's gone.
"It's probably much different than your life way before but all you can do is stay confident.""Is that why you act like you are so tough? To get over nervs?" Joey shrugs. "You're not as bad as they say you are." I move my hand and it lands on his thigh, I quickly remove it and say sorry but when I lift my hand he takes it and pulls me forward into a kiss.
Oh my god! Is this real life????
I put my over hand on his shoulder and kiss him back but he pulls away quickly.
"I should go.""But it's still early." My disapointment is probably showing.
"I don't care I need to go."I watch Joey walk off and look at the bench where he sat.
The kiss... was it real?

"Opal!" I turn to see Melody and Mackenzie standing  behind me Melody has a mix of exitement and worry on her face which is already full of makeup. I don't wear makeup and I don't like it but I have to say she can really make it look good!
"Hi guys.""We need your help, Melody wants to ask Felix if he wants to go out for dinner with her but she wants a better place than the cafe do you know how she would ask? Cause he can be kind of stubborn when it comes to going places."Mackenzie explains and I think.
"You guys haven't been out before?""only a few times  I always tried to make it seem like the least romantic thing ever I don't want to scare him." Melody tells.
"But she wants things to change a little and wants him to move forward with the relationship." Mackenzie adds on to what Melody said.
"Then be straitforward with him! Tell him how you feel I am sure that he will understand!""I guess but I don't want him to get upset." Melody looks sad.
"Why would he get upset? He is dating you for a reason.""And that reason is because I annoy him to the point he gave in!" I didn't know the story of how they started dating so I did not know how to help or what to say luckily Kenzie step in.
"Yeah you might of been pushy but he still wouldn't of agreed for nothing.""I guess." Melody shrugs and looks at her friend with a questioning look.
"You wont know unless you ask." I add.
"If you want us for morale suport we can hide and back you up!""That would be great!" Melody likes my idea and smiles.

I walk into school that morning excited because I get to see Joey. I don't know what that kiss meant but I can only hope it is for the good! My heart leaps when I see him walk in the room. I wave but he doesn't look at me.
Weird maybe he did not notice.
"Hi Joey." I smile at him and he looks at me weird before getting his things and turning away.
"So why did you leave this morning?""Look Poli Opal whatever your name is what happened this morning was a mistake so let's just make life easier and pretend it didn't happen." I can feel my heart breaking and look down.
"How can I pretend it never happened? Didn't you feel anything? Not even the slightest bit of anything?""No." it takes all my might to keep my tears inside for the morning and as soon as it is lunch I pull Zoey aside.
"Opal! What is the matter?" Zoey hugs me and I cry into her shoulder. "Joey kissed me this morning.""What! Why are you crying then is that not what you wanted?" I shake my head. "He said it was a mistake and told me to forget about it." Zoey frowns and looks over at the cafeteria where Joey is opening the door.
"That is just his way of being Joey. Don't let it bother you.""But the way he kissed me didn't feel like nothing!" I argue with her. Zoey shakes her head again. "Don't let it bother you.""I'll try not to." I force a smile onto my face that Zoey returns.
