You always have the brightest smile,
But that smile never seems to reach your eyes.
You may pretend that you are okay,
But I can see through your facade.
And I know you are hurting,
By the way your eyes seem so lonely.
I know you want to pretend the pain isn't there,
Though everyone who knows you,
Can see through the clear lie.
Everyone says the eyes are the portal to the soul,
And they are right.
Your eyes show your every emotion,
The pain, the sorrow, the loneliness, the anger,
But most of all,
The love that I see,
When you look at me.
