Chapter 23

Bonnie and Grams are now working on the spell when there was a bang and behind Damon. I looked over and saw the wall with a pentagram drawn on it open. "It worked." Bonnie said. Stefan and Damon stood in front of the door and Stefan shined a light inside.

"Of course it worked." Grams said.

"We have some fires to build." Damon told Stefan. Stefan turned to us.

"I'm gonna go get the gasoline, I'll be right back." Stefan ran up the stairs away from us. I looked to Damon who looked to me and outstretched his hand.

"You ready?"

"What?" I raised my eyebrow at him and looked to the others.

"You think I'm gonna go in there by myself," Damon grabbed me and pulled me to him as I stumbled. "So you can seal me in?" I looked up at Damon then Grams and Bonnie and Elena.

"Don't take her in. I'll bring the walls down." Grams said.

"You'll bring the walls down if I don't. You think I trust you?"

"As much as I trust you."

"That's it." I spat at all of them. "I'll go i-"

"Tara you can't be serious." Elena said worried.

"He needs leverage, he needs to know that you're not gonna shut the door when he gets inside. I'll do it, I'll go." I told Damon and Damon bent down to a fire torch thing and started walking in and I walked immediately behind.

We walked down a set off stairs with the fire being the only light. I started hearing voices whispering and freaked out. "What is that?"

"They can sense you. Now, where is she?" Damon ran off without me.

"Damon!" I whisper yelled but he was gone and I'm left here in darkness. I started walking in the direction that he ran. "Damon?" After 5 minutes of searching I heard whispering coming from the ground, I blinked a couple times letting my eyes adjust and saw a near corps of a vampire chained up. "Oh god." I saw more corps' everywhere and screamed running but I bumped into someone who grabbed me. I looked up and saw Anna, with a torch.

"You must have a taste for it. You scream and shriek and even bother to escape but then you just come right back to it." I stepped back and tripped over some feet stumbling back. "Mother." Anna said bending down to her. "Stefan did this, you know."

"His father did." I snapped at her.

"And Jonathan Gilbert. Made a choice a long time ago that it would be Gilbert blood that brought her back to life. I had Jeremy all ready to go but..." I spun around ready to run but Anna appeared in front of me, grabbing my wrists and biting into it. I gasped in pain and screamed. She let go and pushed me down to the ground putting my wrist to her mother's mouth while I struggled against her.

"Please, Anna."

"I'm gonna get you out."

"Let her go!" I heard someone yell and Anna got pulled off me and my body dragged from her mother and picked up. Stefan stood In front of me. "Go, go. I'm right behind you." I ran and ran until I got to the entrance. I got out and saw Elena and the ground crying and Bonnie and Grams flipping through a book.

"Wha-"

"Tara, Stefan-" I cut Bonnie off.

"He's right behind me." I told them. They looked behind me and saw Stefan standing there. "Stefan?" Elena got up and ran to him. I looked around confused.

"It's gonna be okay. We'll fix it." Bonnie said.

"What is it?" I asked them.

"I can't."

"Can't..."

"The spell's still up. We cant get them out... yet."

"You went in there not knowing if you could get out?"

"We all heard you scream..."

"You idiot!" I yelled and slapped him across the face. Elena looked at me shocked. "How could you? Elena she was so happy." I said mentioning to her. "I would rather of died than Elena be unhappy." I turned around in a circle grabbing my head. When realisation struck. "Damon. We can't- I won't."

"I know." Stefan said.

"Even if we're able to break through the seal we won't be able to hold it for long." Stefan looked to Elena and ran back in.

Bonnie and Grams found a spell and are doing it now while Elena paces the circle and I stand in front of the door. "I think it's working." Elena said. I saw Anna and her mother at the entrance and I stepped back.

"I just wanted my mother back." I nodded my head. "Jeremy's fine. He's outside. We won't touch him." She walked away, up the stairs. The flames started to go out little by little then relight.

"Bonnie, keep going." Grams told her. "They better hurry." Elena ran over to the door.

"Stefan, they can't hold it much longer!" One of the torches went out. They don't have much time. I looked to Elena and ran inside the door and I heard Elena' s footsteps behind me. I heard voices and ran faster, and I heard Damon groan scream thing.

"Damon!" I ran up to the Stefan and Damon with Elena right on my footsteps. I looked at Damon and saw he jad angered expression.

"Please." Elena begged him. Damon started walking and Stefan put a hand on his back. Elena walked in front while I waited for them to walk in front of me. We walked out and Stefan and Elena hugged while Damon walked off to the stairs standing there and the door slammed behind me. I looked to Damon and we shared a look between us.

I ran to Jeremy, running up the stairs with Stefan and Elena trailing behind me. I be my down and Jer moved. "He's Ok." Stefan told us. We turned when we heard walking and Damon stood there, Elena got up and walked to him hugging him. I looked back to Jeremy and helped him up.
