"Evette, I have to tell you something," Nicholas says as he looks at me straight in the eye. As if he was reading it.
"What is it Nick?" I asked raising my eyebrow.
I notice that his face was turning pale and his eyes was getting teary. Whatever he has to tell me, he has to tell me now.
He starts to open his mouth, and then closes it as fast he opened it. He looks worried on what my reaction will be and very scared.
I'm starting to get worried as well.
What is it that he is going to tell me that makes him worry this much?
"I'm not the person you think I am," he pauses, "My name is not Nicholas, it's Edward. I never meant to hurt you. I'm sorry."
I looked at him my mouth half open. My mind was swirling with thoughts. Regrets. Everything.
"So all of the things we've been through was a lie?" I spit with venom, "I can't believe you Edward," I say his real name with bitterness.
"I-i--" he stutters.
"Forget it," I say as I run away from him.
I run as fast as far as my feet could take me.
Away from him. Away from his lie. Away from everything.
And I never looked back.
