Austin's Pov
I wake up Friday morning, sprawled out on the guest room. I groan, not wanting to move. Then I realize I don't have to work so I roll over. Work itself isn't that bad, but the people are pretty annoying.
The manager at Aldi just keeps talking to me, bothering me as I'm restocking shelves or checking out somebody. At McDonald's, there are just a lot of us and we are really cramped. Plus it gets real loud back there too. This guy named Carl, who's been working there for like 5 years, is such a jerk. Everything must be perfect, and if you mess up once, he threatens to tell the manager. The manager isn't that strict, I mean its a McDonald's for pete's sake.
I sit up tiredly, yawning like a bear after hibernation. I grin at bear joke and stand. I brush my teeth and lazily put on my MCR shirt that I wore when I met Olive. Well the day she woke up. I pull on black pants and slip on some socks. I look in the mirror at my hair and shrug. I have at least a few hours before were going.
I slump down the stairs, making my way to the kitchen. The microwave clock says it's 8:20. I'm going to be late for school! Oh shit. I grab an energy bar, and slip on my shoes. Where is Olive anyway? Is she still asleep? I'm about to check her room when I see a note stuck to the door.
It reads: Hey Austin! Me and the girls left early today because Jason keeps writing stuff on my locker and we want to stop him. Have a nice day! -Olive
Jason's a jerk, but I didn't know he would go so far as to write stuff on lockers. I cant dwell on it any longer because my bus comes in like 10 seconds. I throw my backpack on and run out the door.
I hop onto the bus at Olives stop, surprising the bus driver. I nod my head at him, saying a silent hello. I sit down and look out the window, blocking out everything and everyone. A girl sits by me, still trying to make me talk about One Direction. I sigh and turn to her.
"Yes, I met them. I told you before," I say, answering her question.
"People are saying One Direction have been hanging out with 5SOS. Did you meet them too?" She asks, waving her face with her hands, trying not to cry with excitement.
"Uh, 4 boys, I think their names were Michael, Luke, Calum and um..... Ashton?" I say, trying to remember the guys I met at laser tag.
"OH MA GAWD you DID!" she says, fanning her face harder. Other girls lean in and start asking questions about them, obviously they had been eavesdropping.
"Were they cute?" one girl asks. I roll my eyes and turn back to the window, hopelessly trying to block out their voices.
When the bus comes to a stop, all the girls were really mad at me for ignoring them. I mean it's their fault, I cant be expected to answer questions about guys when I'm not gay. Trust me, some of them were pretty.... graphic.
I hurry into the school, trying to get to my locker before the girls found me again. It's to bad I'm really tall and can be seen in almost any crowd easily. I hurry into class after I put most of my stuff in my locker.

I sit at home, waiting for 4:30 to roll around. I'm taking Olive ice skating at 4:30 and I'm so anxious. She has been coming home from dates with the other guys, freaked out and nervous. I cant screw this up, or our friendship will forever be damaged. But I cant just sit here in the friend zone, and WAIT until she asks me out.
I sigh, trying not to think about it, knowing I'll probably bail if I do. Instead, I focus on the TV. The news seems to be on constantly in this house, which is strange. I watch it anyway.
"If you remember the fire of a hotel a few weeks ago, you would know that a young woman ran in and saved 5 people from the fire. But, were her heroic actions all good?" A reporter asks. I'm about to change the channel but her question intrigues me. Of course they were all good, what are they taking about?
