"What!" I exclaimed as I looked over at the silent man beside me. He didn't show any emotion at the news as he sat in the leather chair beside me. How can I marry a man I just met?

I thought back to just a few minutes ago, where everything was different. I wasn't a CEO's granddaughter, and I didn't have to marry a man to save the company, I was just a normal person who worked in the office. My grandfather had always been a mystery to me. In my 25 years I had never met him as he had fallen out with my mom, and never spoke to her again. Now he had died, and left his granddaughter a present, his company. But the present came with a catch. In order to keep the company alive, I had to marry a man he thought suitable to become CEO. The brooding man beside me was apparently an IT executive, and someone amazing at his job, but why should that matter? I want to marry a man I love, not for business.

"Your grandfather regretted what happened between your mother and him. He hated how that argument caused him to never meet you. Please, this was one of his last wishes." I sighed, looking at the man who sat behind my grandfather's desk. He was his old assistant, and the one who found me and read his will out. He seemed to have been pretty close to my grandfather, up until his death. He was determined to have me agree to this.

"Why can't you run the company? You seem smart enough to do it."

"I can't."

"Why?"

"Because, it's not what he wished."

"And why should I care about what he wanted? He never met me, and he fell out with my mother. Why should it matter who I marry? Why does the CEO even need to be married to me anyway?" He sighed, obviously irritated with my constant questions, and his lack of answers.

"I don't know Natalie. It's what he wanted." I sighed realising there was no way out of this.

"Fine, but I'm not happy about this." The man behind the desk grinned.

"Who knows, maybe you'll fall in love."

"Highly unlikely." The man next to me spoke for the first time in a while. He had just been sitting watching our argument with his arms crossed. His deep voice made me turn to face him again. He had black hair that almost looked navy, and that swept across his face covering half of one of his grey eyes. The suit he wore was tailored, and looked expensive. Of course, he was an executive so he could afford such luxuries.

"Stop staring at me." He spoke, still facing forward.

"You don't have to be so rude."

"You're the one who's staring at me. Remember we're both being forced into this." He was blunt but I knew it was the truth. I sighed turning to the man behind the desk again.

"I really have to marry him?" He gave me a gentle smile before giving a slight nod.

"You two will be living with each other from now on to get to know each other before there is an official proposal. I wish you both luck." The man beside me nodded before quickly leaving the office. I slowly got up opening the office door. Before I could leave the man behind the desk quickly spoke.

"By the way, his name is Hunter King."
