I sat in my cell, contemplating my fate. Either I would be pardoned for my crimes, or I'd be killed. It was as simple as that.
The sound of the cell opening drew me from my thoughts. I opened my eyes and looked to see who my new visitor was. It was a member of the Enforcer's Unit. He had on the standard Black Ops uniform.
"You've been exonerated. I discussed this with the council and they agree. You were only acting in your role to protect the Kusanagi Treasures. As I'm sure you're aware the Kusanagi family has close ties to our village. To kill off the future heiress would not only bring war, but insult your parents' memory. However, as you are the heiress you will be put under constant guard. You will be followed by an escort at all times." Theressa announced.
I felt my eyes widen with surprise. I couldn't believe it. They were forgiving me. I was getting a second chance. "Of course, thank you for this opportunity. I swear I will not make you regret this." I said bowing my head in respect.
