I stared at my phone screen for a moment
before I picked up the call.
“Hello?”
“Where are you?”
He asked.
“Um,”
I was taken by surprise
“I'm at the company’s lobby.”
There was a moment of pause.
“John will be there in 5 minutes.”
Of course.
John is Shawn’s personal secretary.
He knew everything about Shawn
And has known him ever since he was a child.
I waited by the company’s main door and driveway.
A black car with tinted windows pulled up in front of me.
The driver came out,
White hair neatly combed back,
Grey suit and pants
with a pink colored heart design tie.
I smiled.
“I've always loved your fashion sense.”
He chuckled
as he made his way to the other side of the car.
“Your hubby thinks otherwise.”
I laughed and he came up towards me.
“I missed you, John.”
I gave him a big hug.
“I missed you too, Mrs. Sterling. ”
He hugged me back.
He opened the back seat door of the car for me
And I got in.
“I’ll be back in 5 minutes, okay?”
“Oh, alright.”
I agreed, considering he might have to
use the washroom.
Around 10 minutes have passed
And the back seat door on the other side opened.
And there he was.
