He looked down at his cup.

I asked again.
He exhaled deeply,
knowing I wouldn't stop asking him.
His words cut
and it stung, the pain was inevitable.
It lingered
and it made me regret instantly.
It made me regret asking.
It made me regret coming here.
It made me regret searching for these answers.
It made me doubt the past three years of my life.
