Isabelle’s POV

I looked into the man’s eyes; dark, cold, heartless. I quickly ran to the side as he tried to shoot at me, clearly unable to. I ran behind the brick wall and crawled down along the side. I reached the end and looked up to see his face again

I quickly punched him in the face and as he fell backwards took his gun out of his hands. I searched him hoping to find something useful, but so far nothing

I reached in his pocket to find a picture. It was of a little girl in a Bell costume from Beauty in the Beast. My instincts were telling me to leave him behind, but I couldn’t, she might still be alive, hoping that when this all blows over, he would find her.

I slapped him in the face as he jerked up. He immediately went into defense mode and backed away from me.

“Aareee  you in-ffeected?” he stuttered.

“No, I’m not but if you don’t get up right now I’ll leave you and it sure will happen.”

We ran back to where I left the group of bitched I called my now zombie-killing friends to see only a few left. I saw David, sitting the same way I did when I found him in the room, James, Donna, and Louis. This group might not be so bad after all.

“Come on, we got to get out of here!” I yelled as they all obviously realized I was right and started running towards the opening in the fence.

I jumped over it quickly and then looked back to see if everyone was there. That’s when I saw the trickle of blood run down Louis’ leg. He was screeching in pain as James ripped the wire out of his leg and quickly pushed him out of the way as 3 zombies were close behind them. Zombies also had a good sense of smell.

I got out the gun I still had from the military guy and shot them all clean in the brains as the fell to the floor.

I ran back to Louis and picked him up off the ground and continued running, everyone close behind me.

I felt like I could run forever, even though I was carrying a 150 pound man, was scared as hell, and pretty much keeping 5 people alive, I just couldn’t stop, well not until Louis was literally slipping out of my hands because of all his blood.

I called for everyone to stop as I set him down under a tree. I checked my surroundings to make sure no zombies could see us, and then looked back at everyone.

I saw David, still being a loner, James pretty much carrying Donna because it looked like she was about to pass out, and military man just chilling like this was a game. He started to laugh as I looked back at him.

“What’s so damn funny!? You think this is a game? Where fighting for our lives and your laughing!” I raised my voice so loud my head started to spin as I fell to the ground.

“Nothing, it wasn’t meant to offend you, it’s just this is just so fake. Who thought we would be stuck like this? Right now, in America. You would think we are smart enough to come a cure or solution.”

I looked up at him and sighed. “I’m sorry I shouted at you…”

“Harry.” He replied.

“Isabelle.” I looked into his eyes and its like they changes. They were once black and cold, ready to kill. Now they were the perfect shade of brown; comforting, calming, dreamy…

“Here’s your picture….I found it in your pocket.”

His eyes widened as he looked at it and looked up when he heard David.

“Hey love birds, care to help over here” I heard from David as he interrupted my train of though.

I got up, a bit wobbly, but able to stand and walk over to see a pool of blood under Louis and a almost cut in half leg.

I tried to contain my throat as food started to come up, but then I realized I haven’t eaten in 5 hours. So, guess I didn’t have to worry about that happening.

“What the crap do we do?” I looked at Donna ready to make a smart allic comment, but I really didn’t know what to do. It looked terrible. The skin had gotten opened even more with layers of it peeling away making it red. The cut was almost so deep it almost got to the bone. The veins around it had turned bright purple.

“Well we need to wrap it I guess.” Yeah, that was good I though as I suggested it.

I reached in my bag a pulled out one of my t-shirts.

“I’ll be right back.” I said as I went around the tree to take my shirt off and put on the new one. Might as well wrap it in the already dirty one covered in his blood.

I walked around the corner to see a zombie-walking strait towards the military man, oh wait, I mean Harry.

“HARRY!” I screamed as he turned around and punctured his brain with his pocketknife.

“Maybe next time you could say ‘turn around’ or ‘there’s a zombie behind you!’.”

I smirked at him as I gave him the shirt and he wrapped it around Louis’ leg.

“We might be staying here for a while.” Harry said as he was counting Louis’ pulse.

“God I’m freaking starving.” I heard from James then everyone agreed.

I looked in my bag hoping I had some sense to grab some food or water, with only half luck.

I pulled out some cheese-its and passed some out to everyone.  There was a little left over, but didn’t want to start a fight on who gets the last one, so I stuffed them back into the box

As everyone ate, I thought how the hell I was supposed to lead a group in this situation. I made a mental list on what happened and where we could go.

1)   We are being chased by Zombies and can’t make any major noises. Including guns and just plain shouting

2)   Louis’ leg is terribly hurt and couldn’t move if his life depended on it, which it did.

3)   We need to get to a place where we can get supplies, food and water.

4)   We need to get to an island, and fast! And I knew just where to go in the great Big Apple New York City…..
