Glaring at it is not going to make it disappear."

A snort escapes me. If only life were that easy. Looming in front of me, like a mid evil castle drawn from the very bowels of hell, rests my new abode. Hunters Academy. The ornate bricking and grandiose size makes me cringe internally. Brant shuffles slightly before grabbing one of my suitcases and starting up the wide stone steps to the Academy. The wind blows harshly against my face as I follow after him. A clear sign, even the wind doesn't want me in there. Slipping through the large door behind Brant I halt abruptly. A large corridor lies before me and a beautiful winding staircase leads up to another floor. The buildings beauty is slightly breathtaking, but a coldness lurks within in the bright colors and aged wood. A coldness that doesn't belong, like an eery chill hanging over everything. A shudder rips through my body.

"Come on. You have to go see the Ms. Little  before I can show you to your dorm."

I snap my head to the side and look at Brant, the silence that was surrounding me shattering into a million little pieces. His thoughts once again flicker rapidly and I blind away the images, shaking my head and clearing my throat before following after him as he takes a left and leads me down a narrow corridor that was hidden from view by a large pillar

"This is as far as I go. She is waiting for you."

He takes my bag from me and gestures for me to go inside, so I open the door slowly. I walk in hesitantly, and a booming voice echoes through the room, making me jump slightly at its loudness and intensity. The thoughts of this person are jumbled and flighty and shock overtakes me when I realize that the deep voice has come from a rather large woman sitting behind an equally large desk. The woman is very grandiose in size, her impressive height and rather thick arms are shockingly too large for the size of her head and I cannot help but let out a small giggle at the fact that her name is Ms.Little. Either that is really not her name, or the universe has a very sick sense of humor. The woman's thoughts slice through me at the sound of my giggle and I wince at the harshness of them.

"Welcome to Hunters Academy! Come come have a seat!"

The door slowly shuts behind me and I hear faint laughter coming from behind the now closed door. My face heats at the knowledge that she knew why I was laughing and I slowly walk towards her desk before sitting down in the plastic chair that was placed in front of her desk. The woman does not sit, instead she chooses to stand, towering above me with her arms crossed and her eyebrows furrowed.

"You look like a great deal of trouble. I have heard much about you an your father. I hope that you plan on carrying out his legacy as a hunter, without creating a plethora of problems with it Snow."

Her smile doesn't reach her icy blue eyes and her nose twitches slightly at the mention of my father. My eyes narrow slightly at the use of the nickname that I had been given as a Hunter. Due to my hair being pale white in color and sometimes larger and harder to tame that a lions mane, I have been given that nickname due to the resemblance that it has to snow. Though in this case it is only partially about my hair color, when it comes to Hunting Vampires, I am as cold and unforgiving as a winters storm. Her statement about me looking like trouble could have been seen as an insult but her thoughts state other wise. She is impressed.

"Trouble always seems to have a way of finding me Ma'm. And my father has many legacies to fulfill."

She grins at my response and her thoughts spike with amusement and a little bit of anger at the thought of me causing trouble. She shuffles through her cluttered desk and picks up a Manila envelope that was buried between two large stacks of papers.

"In here this is your schedule, your school map, and your dorm key. You do have a roommate, and a small kitchenette in your room but bathrooms are communal."

She tosses the envelope into my lap and I curl my nose at the mention of communal bathrooms. The small smirk on her face alerts me to the fact that she enjoys seeing me squirm at the thought of sharing a bathroom with a bunch of other girls.

"You may leave now Snow. There is a list of rules on the back of your schedule that I expect you to follow with the utmost sincerity."

I nod at her and stand from the chair with ease, waving the envelope at her I turn and head for the door quickly. Her thoughts are a jumble of different things and I find that trying to pinpoint one in particular is very difficult. Shuffling quickly out of the room I find Brant lounging against the wall to my right and I land a solid punch to his gut once the door clicks shut behind me. He leaps away from me and clutches his stomach with a groan. I glare at him and pick up my bag from he floor, leaving him to pick up the other two.

"Ms. Little. Really?"

He laughs and I turn back to him quickly. He jumps away from me and puts his hands in the air.

"Chill. I thought it was funny. Now let's go find your dorm room"

I mutter a small "hilarious" as he picks up my other bags and I follow behind him slowly. When I see the large doors that lead outside I fight the urge to run through them and get as far away from this place as I can. Something about this whole school puts me on edge and I grind my teeth at the discomfort. Brant clears his throat at my longing look towards the doors and begins walking up the long winding staircase. I notice how empty the building seems and voice my concern to Brant.

"Where is everyone at?"

I ask, looking around the empty corridors and hallways as we walk up the spiraling staircase. When the staircase ends he leads me down a wide hallway and up another set of steps. The age difference in the two buildings is evident the second I step into the long hallway that has at least 10 doors on either side. They must have added this building on to accommodate more students.

"They are all in their rooms. It's dorm time. You pretty much go to your dorm and crash, do homework, play video games with friends, take showers after combat. All of that good stuff."

I nod at him and we continue down the hallway until we stop at a door with a very sloppy 23 painted on it in bright red paint.

"Here give me your key. You're lucky you got a dorm in the A wing, the last Hunter we brought in was stuck in the F wing, that's 6 floors up."

He points back towards the stairs as I shuffle through the envelope and grab the keys for him. Handing them to him he opens the door, holding it open for me, I walk in and he walks in after me, dropping my bag haphazardly onto the floor with a grunt. The dorm isn't much. There is two twin beds, one of which had clothes and books strewn all over it, two closets on either side of the room, one of which had tons of clothes spilling from it. Two small desks, one with crumbled up papers, pencil shavings and what looks to be used tissue and the other with a lamp, a bucket of pencils and some school books. A small kitchenette also, with a fridge and a stove off to my left.

"Alright this is where I leave you, the communal bathroom is down the hall and to your right. Your roommate should be here soon. I'll see you Snow!"

He tosses my key on the bed, smiles at me and walks out, shutting the door behind him. I set my bag and suitcase on the floor, looking around the small room. I collapse onto the bed with no clothes on it and pull the blanket provided for me over my head. Sleep. Sleep, is what I need. My brain is on overload, the puzzle pieces not fitting together quite well. A young vampire, who didn't seem to be a vampire at all attacked me on what is supposed to be the safest grounds for Hunters. And those guards, it almost seems like they were protecting the young vampire, not me. A chill goes up my spine when the wind blows against the window I drift to sleep slowly, the questions loading up in never ending piles.
