I sat by the front door waiting for Maggie to walk in. She said she'd be home after lunch. Lately we've had more lows than highs. but i'm gonna fix that. im gonna show her how much i love her. how much i need her.
i hear her car pull up in the driveway and run up to our room.
the door opens downstairs. my hands start to sweat and my heart beats a little faster than usual.
I can hear her gasp and she starts walking upstairs, she stops in front of our door. I hesitate to move from my position, but she starts to open the door. Tears are forming in her eyes. She just looks at me. I figure now or never.
"Margaret Elizabeth Lindemann, you are the reason i wake up in the morning. You're the sunshine on my darkest days. I love you and all your annoying, lame qualities. Will you please stay in my life forever, as my wife?" She starts sobbing hiccuping out her words -
