Wen's POV
'Wendy! What are you doing up there? We are going to be late to our first day of school and I'm sure you don't want to cause a bad impression!'
My annoying brother, as nice as always...
'Yes Mike I'm coming I just can't find my concealer.'
New school, new people and, altough I usually dont use any makeup, I need to make friends and make a fresh start. Last year was the worst and I want things to go just as I want them to.
...
So we arrive at Lancaster High School which is round the corner from my house, in Bristol. My family wasn't having a good year so my parents decided to move here without giving Mike or me a chance to say something about it.
'Hi swettie. What's the beautiful name of the new beauriful girl?' this really cute guy asks me.
I blush as always and start to panick, I even think of running away from him, but just as I am about to leave he says: 'Hey! Don't freak out I was kidding. I mean you obviously are new and yeah you're beautiful but I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable.'
'Well you did, but that's okay. My name is Wendy but you can call me Wen. What's yours?' I still feel a bit nervous about this conversation but I try not to let him know.
'Nice to meet you Wen' I'm Matt, Matt Espinosa. And you can call me Matty or Matt, I'm fine with both.
Im starting to like this boy, he's being nice and he doesn't know me so I might as well take the opportunity and make some friends.
The bell rings and its time to go to class.
'See you at break time Wen, I can introduce you to the rest of my mates' he waves his hand and walks into class.
And I'm left alone, I was suposed to go and check my timeline and teachers and look for my locker to put away my stuff, but I guess I should check my first class and do that later.
...
My two first hours go well but they don't seem to finish. Third I've got maths and it doesn't sound much fun. I change seats to the back rows. of the class because I sure as hell don't want to be in first row.
'Hi students, as today is the first day and I know you aren't looking forward to maths today I'm going to make the class a bit lighter. So i can see we have a new student with us today'
Great, now all the class has turned around and is looking at me. This bitchy girl is staring at me as if I was something she had never seen.
Then I saw him, he was the only one who seemed to care and felt bad for me. I was so embarrased and he was so cute. He smiled at me and I got red and red, I almost thought I was going to explode.
Suddenly he stood up. Oh my god, he was the tallest 16 year old I had ever seen. But god he was hot.
'Mr. Clark I don't think it's a very good way to welcome a new girl, and she looks shy. All of you stop staring at her!'
That was all it took me to realise I was starting to really like this boy.
'Okay Shawn. Don't worry I won't make you come up to the blackboard or any of that stuff girl, but could you present yourself to the rest of your classmates?'
Shawn, his name was Shawn, what a beautiful name for this perfect boy who had save me from running out of class.
'Miss?' Mr. Clark said.
'Sorry Mr. Clark. My name is Wendy, but everyone calls me Wen. I come from South Carolina and I this is my first year at Lancaster High.' I say, with much more confidence than I expected.
'Everyone say hi to Wen!' Mr. Clark says.
Everyone comes to introduce themselves to me and I get to know a lot of nice people.
The last one is Shawn, and I start to get nervous as he aproaches me.
'Hi new girl. My name is Shawn, and sorry for this mess, he never does this with new students, but I guess you were the special one' He smiles, and what a smile. I stare at him for a bit before answering.
'Hi... Emm.. I'm Wen and well... nice to meet you' I couldn't be more stupid, I know he must be thinking I'm a fool now and I don't know what to do about it because I can't control myself.
'It's nice meeting you. In fact it's great. So, do you wanna join me and my mates for the break?' I can't believe he's asking me to go with him.
'Actually, this guy I met before also told me to do so. He's called Matt?'
'Hahaha. Of course Matt would be the first to make the move, I should've known better! He's one of my best mates, come and I will introduce you to the rest'
I follow him through the corridor and we go outside. I'm so out of myself right now, like I can't even think clearly but I don't mind because my day is going so well.
