Choosing Mr Right

Chapter 2

I was anxiously waiting for the bell to ring. I had Math and my teacher Mr.Hill was boasting about one of his many achievements.

I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. The window gave a good view of the football field where all the players were warming up. And ofcourse Liam was there.

I watched him play for the next 15 minutes until the bell rang. I gathered my books and rushed to the cafeteria.

Finally! Food here i come!

After buying my meal I sat down at our usual table. My friends Iris, June, Alex and Cody joined us.

"Guys guess who bumped into who today!" Iris winked at me.

"Iris you should really stop bumping into every guy who you think is "hot" " Alex said laughing.

I laughed as Iris smacked Alex and continued

"Oh shutup Alex if you like to be tied down to your girlfriend then what can i say?"

I smiled. This was usual between my friends. Although i got close to Alex when he moved to Austin four years ago i've been friends with Iris, June and Cody for over a decade.

I became friends with Alex when he moved to my neighbourhood. One fateful summer day i was going to take a walk in the park. I had my headphones on so i didnt hear someone coming up behind me. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around .I saw this handsome guy who was smiling at me.

"What?" I asked.

He hit me gently me on the shoulder.

Enraged i cried out " What the hell is wrong with you?! Who are you to touch me?"

He started to laugh and suddenly hugged me.

My heart hammered against my chest and my eyes grew wide.

Who is this guy?

What does he want?

He withdrew just as fast and thats when i saw it. A paper on which, in my younger brother's writing, it was written "slap me".

"You had this taped to your back. Its a good thing i removed it else who knows what would have happened" The guy said grinning.

"Im so sorry i screamed at you. I really am" I said feeling stupid.

im going to kill you Shawn!

"Dont be my name is Alex. I moved here yesterday and if i'm not wrong i think we are neighbours"

"Hello earth to Amy!" Iris said waving a hand infront of my face.

I slapped her hand away and looked at June who was busy munching some fries.

"Well someone got her acceptance from Brown and didnt even bother to tell us!"

June immediatly started coughing and grabbed Cody's water.

"Give it back i am not giving you anything. You didnt tell us you got accepted!"

Cody looked at her, shocked.

"Look i'm sorry i totally forgot about it you know with my grandmother getting sick and all. I totally forgot about it until Amy mentioned it right now" June said and i could feel that she was upset her grandmother.

"Allright for June's celebration we are leaving school right now!" Cody exclaimed getting up from his seat.

The five of us got up and exited the cafeteria and decided to drive altogether to the mall.

"Allright so i'm going to head over to that shop over there while Cody you have to order the pizza and June you have to pay" Iris gave out the orders once we were sitting in the food court.

Both June and Cody groaned and got up from their seat. Everyone hated it when Iris got bossy but she said couldnt help it.

After everyone left i turned around to face Alex.

"So whats the deal with you and Tracy?"

Tracy was Alex's girlfriend going on for two months now.

"Look Amy i really like her but like i said we are taking it slow. I dont want anyone messing things right now" He said looking distant.

Alex was right whenever he would get a new girlfriend something bad would happen which is why i was suprized that nothing had happened in the past two months.

Wow Amy you are such a great friend.

"Good to know. So its movie night thursday you gonna come over?" I asked dismissing the thought.

"Yeah sure. Just me and you?"

"Yup just like old times" i said winking at him.

Alex smiled and i realized that i was holding my breath for his answer. I knew then that i couldnt wait for the night to come.
