Part Five:- Invite

As Will and El sat down for lunch beside Lucas and Dustin, the loud, deep voices of the school's sports players could be heard from the other side of the lunch hall.

"Those dumb-asses are wild.", commented Lucas.

"I know, thank god we are not one of them."

"I know."

Suddenly, the table seemed to lower a little as another person sat down next to El.

Harrison Marron.

"Hey, Jane.", he greeted her.

"Hey,", replied Eleven pushing her hair back a little.

"I have something for you."

"What is it."

Slyly, Harrison slipped a card into El's hand and left the table, winking at her as he walked away.
She took the piece of card and looked at it. An invitation to a party. His party.

"What is it?"

"An invitation to a..a p-"

"Party?"

"Yeah."

"You're not going.", said Will, taking another bite from his lunch.

"Why not?"

"I don't want you out with that guy."

"Why not?"

"Because, I just don't."

"Well that's for mom to decide, not you.", said Eleven before getting up to leave the table.

"El wait-", but by the time Willard said that, she was gone.

Eleven angrily threw away her tray, but bumped into a figure with brown hair and a familiar face.

Michael Wheeler.

The two stared at each other, but Mike stepped out of his gaze and stuttered, "Uh..sorry.", and rushed off.

El looked at him as he walked away before looking back in her direction and going back into the school.

Finally, Will and El arrived home, Joyce just coming back from work.

"Hey mom, if I was invited to a party would you let me go?", asked Eleven abruptly.

"Yeah, I guess so. To socialise. Why, did you get invited to one?"

"Yes and Will thinks I shouldn't go."

"Well who's party is it?"

"Harrison Marron."

"He's a nice boy. Of course I'll let you go."

"Thank you, mom.", replied El looking at her brother with an "I told you so" look.
