Something Unexpected

Hermione and Draco intentionally hung out in the open. Rumors began to circulate around that they were dating. These were false of course, but they let them circle. It was funny to see the look on their faces. Draco was the one who usually joined her, they were practically inseparable.

One day Hermione was watching Draco do Quidditch practice, he soared over on his nimbus 2001 followed by the Slytherin Quidditch Captain, Blaise Zabbini. Draco landed neatly next to Hermione with a broad smile on his face. "Well, that was a workout, how did I do Hero" Draco questioned. "Dragon you were brilliant! I think you're better on the practice ground than the real game" Hermione teased. "Come and watch anytime Granger. Draco works harder when you're here. I think he's trying to impress you" Blaise said. Hermione looked up to see Blaise hovering in front of them. Draco was blushing violently by the end of the sentence. Hermione laughed when she saw Draco's face.

Then she noticed a light blonde headed with ocean blue eyes girl, Luna Lovegood, skipping towards them. She was in her own world and very little could take her out, quite an accomplishment if you ask me."Hermione, Malfoy, Headmaster Dumbledore wants to see you" informed Luna. Smiling she skipped away.

Hermione and Draco waved goodbye to Blaise and hurried to Dumbledore's office. Dumbledore was waiting there with a warm and welcoming smile. A stone gargoyle hopped aside when Dumbledore said Chocolate Frogs. The gargoyle had revealed a long staircase which led to Dumbledore's office. In Dumbledore's office was many silver instruments Lay on fragile tables. On the walls hung all the Headmasters and Mistresses over the years, asleep in their frames, or just pretending, one of the two. At the back, next to a desk sat a Phoenix named Thorze.

Dumbledore sat in a large plush chair on one side of the desk. Motioned them to sit in two chairs on the other side. They did so hand in hand with the same emotionless expression. However, when they sat down they turned and smiled at each other.

Phineas Nigellus Black let out a merciless cry of rage. Phineas is the most hated Headmaster ever. Dolores Umbridge is the most hated Headmistress, obviously. "A PUREBLOOD AND A MUDBLOOD... THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE... BREAK UP NOW" Phineas cried! Draco's hands clenched, however, Hermione tightened her grip on him. He looked at her anger dancing in his eyes, Hermione smiled warmly and shook her head. His features softened, fists released, however, he glared darkly at Phineas. Dumbledore only smiled and waved Phineas off. Phineas obeyed but shot daggers through his eyes at Hermione and Draco.

Dumbledore returned his attention to Hermione and Draco, a grim expression playing on his face. "Miss Ravenclaw, I am sorry to tell you this but you have to go to Mr. Weasley's Hearing. You have to understand that I tried everything, they eventually allowed you to take someone to comfort you. The Ministry will ask you questions about the abuse and you will have to answer honestly. I will give you the necklace he used to control you as evidence" he stated.  Draco's hands invaded back into fists. How could they do this to Hermione? She had been avoiding the topic ever since. 

Before Draco could retort, however, Hermione got there first. "Okay". This took Draco a step backward. But he didn't miss the gulp or the fear and hurt lying mischievously on her eyes. "I mean I have to, justice has to be served, and if this is the only way. Then I'm game. Dragon, could you come then that would be amazing. That way you could answer the questions when I get too teary" Hermione explained. Draco looked at her, his features softened. "Of course I would be honored, Hero. Just one problem, you'll have to tell me everything that happened. I don't want to see you in tears" Draco replied. Hermione looked at Draco and tightened her grip on him. "I know, but do we have a choice, I don't think so. Headmaster Dumbledore when is the Hearing? My guess is four or three days, am I wrong" Hermione added? Dumbledore looked at Hermione with a grim expression, mingled within was, a feat to be sure, shock. "You are correct Miss Ravenclaw, you have four days. I have given you and Mr. Malfoy those four days off. Your eyes must be set on the goal, you will have to rush to tell Mr. Malfoy everything, once again I am so sorry you have to see him again" Dumbledore added. Dumbledore gave the necklace to Draco, who placed it into its case; he kept it firmly out of Hermione's gasp. As Hermione and Draco walked down the spiral staircase, they made a silent agreement to talk at the whomping willow, where they're journey began.
