“Your Majesty.” The servant offered her hand to help Princess stand up.
“Tell others to gather in one place immediately.” her servant took off as soon as she heard the command.
Princess stood firm, her face was full of determination to find hope. She finally recollected herself, ready to save her people. She clutched the red gem in her hand, “it’s not over yet, Tari.”
“O Guardians of the Jewel,” Harushi chanted, a ring of faded light appeared beneath her feet. “Protectors of Justice,” she continued as the light grew brighter, “I Summon You, Lend Me Your Strength…” and brighter. “Come Forth!” light blasted from underneath her feet as Princess Harushi collapsed on the ground with her injuries bleeding from the lost battle. Four shadows appeared around the circle. The circlet around her head rolled away, one of the four shadows picked it up as he took his form, and he was emitting a blue light. His name was Tsukune. The others took form as well, Obai radiated a yellow light, while Kyouhei gave a green aura and a purplish one from Akihito.
“We are the guardians of The Heart of the Dragon, Your Highness.” all bowed as the light around them slowly faded. Kyouhei calmly knelt down next to Princess and gently carried her in his arms. The four walked in the direction of the palace. The other three helped people as they go along. The people were stunned by their sudden appearance as they made their way at the center of the crowd. The smoke filled the air as the fire slowly died down and people cheered.
“They saved the Princess!”
“They are heroes of the kingdom!”
“We’re saved!”
“Thank you!
“Hooray!”
When they entered the palace, they saw how much damage had been done. At the entrance hall, they were greeted by a set of servants and knights.
“This way please.” a servant said and led the way to Harushi’s bedroom.
Kyouhei gently put Princess Harushi down on her bed. Then they all left the room.
“Is Her Highness going to be fine?” Akihito asked as a set of servant rushed in with towels and hot water, he stared at them blankly.
“Yes, we should let her rest for the time being.” The servant said.
“What happened here?” Tsukune asked while surveying the place.
“We were ambushed, it was terrible.” The servant replied.
“Bandits?” Obai asked as he fixed destroyed statues into a new one as if it was never damaged.
“Impossible, they’re not likely to attack like this.” Akihito said.
“A wizard came here,” The servant said. “… a black one.”
Two days passed then and Princess has finally awakened.
“The guardians!” princess gasped as she sat up in her bed and her eyes wide. As if on cue, green light appeared before her and Kyouhei came out of the light.
“You called, Your Majesty?” Kyouhei said and bowed.
“Who…?” Harushi asked in confusion and she was suddenly alert.
“My apologies for intruding, Your Majesty. I’m one of the guardians you called. My name is Kyouhei.” Kyouhei said softly.
“Where are the others?” princess asked.
“In that case, will you join breakfast with us?” Kyouhei lifted his head and led princess to the dining hall.
“Good morning, Princess!” Akihito exclaimed excitedly with a grin as he served the food.
“Come sit here,” Obai offered the head table.
Tsukune eyed the two and greeted princess, “It’s an honor to have princess with us,” with a smile.
“Why did you prepare the food? What of the royal servants?” Princess Harushi asked as she sat down.
“Everyone’s absent today,” Akihito grinned and poured glasses with drinks.
“Your Majesty, they are together with their families for today.” Kyouhei politely said.
“I see,” she ate her breakfast silently as she observed the men at her table. “We shall have a meeting after tea is served.” She finally said.
Obai was whispered something to Akihito about what tea is.
“Hey, do you know how to make that?” Akihito whispered to Tsukune.
Princess Harushi is getting frustrated because everyone is slacking off instead of searching the location of the precious jewel.
“Tea is served.” Kyouhei said as he poured Princess Harushi a cup. Princess Harushi looked at Kyouhei, “Thank you.”
“There are only four of you here before me,” princess Harushi began.
“Yes, and we are honored.” Tsukune interrupted.
“As I was saying,” princess Harushi continued. “There should be five guardians present here!”
“There are only four of us that came,” Kyouhei reported.
That made Princess Harushi think, of why there was only four of them. The red guardian didn’t respond to her summon, what happened? Does Tari have something to do with the red guardian not showing up? Did the curse really have taken effect?
She knew the answer, yet refuses to accept the fact that the red guardian is not coming back.
“How about if we choose from the human world?” Princess Harushi was thinking out loud.
