4. The lie that broke me

It had been a while since I noticed the constant checking of your phone.

And you'd been cancelling our plans for weeks.

So I picked up the phone and dialed your number feeling weak.

I sat there trembling as you admitted to loving her now.

You said we were done.

I asked what I'd done wrong.

"You're just too emotionally closed off"  you said and hung up.

I laughed to myself. 

The only thing I'd closed off to you were my legs. 

The difference between me and her is that she let you open hers...

But I'd let you rip open my heart.
