People knew about what you had done to me and soon the pity came, spilling into my ears.

It reminded me of the tears I'd been spilling for you every night since.

People would tug on my sleeve and ask how I was doing.

"I'm over him. I'm fine" I'd repeat.

 And each word tugged on my heart harder than the last.
