Ever since you were aware of your..skills, you never felt the need to use them. you just pretended that you didn't have them.
but since you joined the BAU, you had to try a little harder to do so. they were like your family and since you were always in danger, you felt the need to protect them. Specially one particular doctor.
Spencer and you clicked since you joined the team, you never felt the need to make someone happy to all costs until you meet him. So when the love of his life, Maeve, almost died, you felt the need to stop Spencer's pain, to save her even if that meant that you had to give up your own life."Spencer...?" you said, softly, watching him sob in front of her.
He looked up to you. "She's dead, she- is my fault, i-it should've been me" His eyes were full of tears and his breathing was irregular.
You didn't say anything, there was nothing you could do to change his mind. They took Maeves lifeless body and the team went home. Spencer left to his apartment without a word.------
He didn't talk to anyone for almost a week, except for you. You went every day to his apartment and took care of him. He was aware of your feelings for him. He was grateful you didn't try to take advantage of his state, he was grateful you were there for him as a friend.
Within time, he went out more. to work, libraries, coffee, grocery shopping. And it was a matter of time that he could be on his feet again. but that didn't change the emptiness he felt every time he thought about her.
Asking to no one in particular, why did she have to be taken? what if he'd done something different? would she still be alive?
Those thoughts killed him.And when you found him in the middle of his room, a picture of Maeve in his hand, crying his heart out, you knew you had to do something.
You couldn't see him so broken. So you went to the morgue, put Maeve on the floor and stared at her for a moment. You got your phone out and dialled Penelope's number.
"Hey, sweet pea, what's up?"
"Hi, Pen. i um, i need you to do something for me?" you said softly.
"Of course my dear, what is it?" you didn't know how to ask her without her suspecting something.
"I-uh, i need you to record a message and give it to Spencer tomorrow, maybe? please don't ask."
"...of course, just a second." she said typing in her computer to record. "okay, go ahead"
"H-hey Spence. By the time you hear this i'll probably be gone. i know you might be confused and shocked but i did what i did because i love you and i couldn't see you like this anymore. Maeve is a lucky girl. i hope you have a happy, happy life....goodbye, Spencer."
Penelope stayed silent for a second. "(Y/N)? what happened?"
"Thanks, Penny. Listen, i gotta go, okay? i love you." You hung up before she could say something else. If she did, you knew you were going to tell her. that couldn't happen.
Penélope felt something on her chest, something was wrong. She immediately called Derek and they went looking for you.
After they looked in your house, they were to Spencer's apartment and when he opened, they started to bombard him with questions.
"woah, guys, whats going on?" he asked to the panicked couple on his door.
"it's (y/n), she called me and said some weird things and then she made me record a message and she hung up and we don't know where she is" Garcia rambled.
"What do you mean? what recording?" Spencer asked, worried.
García looked in her purse for the cd of the recording and the handed it to Spencer.
He quickly put the disc on his computer and they listened to it, looking at each other after it finished.
They looked everywhere, but they didn't find you.
In the morning they received an email with an address. and a word: Morgue. they called the rest of the team and went there, but when they arrived, they couldn't believe what their eyes saw.Maeve was sitting on the floor, alive. Spencer ran to her and engulfed her in a tight hug as tears of happiness rolled down his face, not believing she was in his arms again.
And then he remembered. Your message, it made sense. He wasn't completely sure how, but he knew you did it.
