Nicolas and Wallace stayed outside away from prying eyes against the black, shining gate outside. Neither spoke but Wallace knew something was seriously wrong when Nic came alone to be his bodyguard. Wallace had two body guards and he was confused but he was a little hesitant to question it when Nic just kept on sniffling quietly to himself.
He hated how he couldn't really say anything unless Nic was looking at him. Nic had gotten a lot better at reading lips and his sign language; though a little sloppy, was also great. Wallace had also noticed the lack of space between them over the increasing time they spent together. There was only a small spot in between them because of the other twilight that was supposed to be there, "Hey.. Nic."
Nic was looking straight ahead as Wallace stared at the side of his face. He wasn't crying but Wallace knew he could've been, maybe if he was alone or perhaps only with you. It seemed that no matter how close Wallace and Nic grew, he still couldn't get as close as Nic and yourself were but it was understandable as he had no idea what the both of you had been through together, "Nic."
This time, he nudged the Twilight and Nic didn't flinched, or even respond right away while Wallace's frown deepened, "Where's (Name)?"
It took even longer for Nic to answer, as if he was calculating his thoughts before signing back in a careful manner. Doing so with the knowledge that both Nic and Wallace still had lot's to learn, 'Soldier... took her away.'
To this, Wallace seemed to growl inwardly in malevolence and clenched his fists too. Nic wasn't really surprised but he was also at a loss. He couldn't stand up to them and he couldn't gain that courage he needed to protect her, he was scared and dependent, submissive to his Father who was also the leader of the mercenary group, "What th-"
Wallace quietened down when a figure stormed their way. He was large, dressed in the familiar soldier uniform in combat boots and the camouflage track suit. Wallace didn't miss the way Nic's eyes displayed these raw emotions of hate and fear when staring at him. In front of Wallace the soldier was a different person, "Master Wallace, Commander Gaston is expecting the Twilights presence for departure for the Anti-Twilight riots."
"His name is Nicolas."
Wallace wanted this man fired, he wanted him thrown out into Ergastulum where he could starve for all Wallace cared. The teen was burning with rage but his bright, blue eyes only glared while the unnamed soldier only nodded almost in apology but it was fake, so fake.
"Right, Nicolas is needed, they'll be back within a day at max." Nicolas was already walking toward the soldier to follow him so that he could hopefully lead Nic to you. He was frightened of what he would find but he was so desparate for comfort. With no words spoken, Nic was lead towards another exit through the gates where the soldiers were to go in a pack towards the city where the riots continued. He finally spotted you among them, standing on your lonesome as he neared you faster and faster, he found you and he couldn't wait to hold you.
He wasn't thinking of the soldiers at that moment when you were already at arms length. He just grabbed your upper arm, trembling as he brought you into his body.
No sounds came from you when Nic held onto you for dear life. Nicolas' arms circled your back and your waist as you body became melded into his and he breathed you in, hating the light scent of cigarette smoke and liquor on you as well but he still felt your heart beat reaching his, beating in sync.
