the sky shrouded by the dark gray clouds brought rain to the city of seoul. some people strided off to their home while covering their pity selves from rain while some ran under the roofs of shops and houses seeking for protection against rain.
the heavy rain patted against the glass window of a cafe filled with aroma of roasted coffee beans.
"i probably should borrow the umbrella from mark this time," the young employee working in the cafe thought, "should i go home early today? i guess i should."
"mark, can i go now. it's raining heavily. i don't think it will stop any sooner," the girl said to her boss who was also her friend.
"yeah. you can go now. i don't want jongsuk to call me and scold me for keeping you till late night here," the boy waved at her signalling to go home.
"alright. i'm going now. bye," she informed her boss and put in her coat.
"take care on your way home. it's pretty late now," mark said glancing at his watch which happened to point its short needle towards 9 and longer on at 6.
"i will. and you too. close it early don't overwork yourself," she said and walked out of the door with umbrella which she borrowed from mark that evening.
how am i even gonna get to my home. she thought when she saw the water drops falling from the sky with the speed of bullet and started walking with the umbrella shielding her from the heavy rain drops.
—
the girl shuddered from cold outside due to rain as she punched in her code and opened her apartment door quickly making her way to get in to get enveloped by the warmth. reaching for the light switches she finally found it and turned on the lights for her to get a view of an apartment with three bedroom each with individual bathroom, a living room and a kitchen.
finally back at home!
and at the same time her phone vibrated from her coat pocket as she fished it out to see a message from her brother, jongsuk.
jongsuk
have you reached home?yun
yes, i have.
when are you coming though?jongsuk
omw. see you later.yun
yeah, come soon. it's getting pretty late.she then changed her clothes to black sweatpant and oversized shirt and threw her hair up in a bun from black jeans and white bottom up shirt and ponytail. she did her business in her bathroom and took a shower as she thought she smelled from the living long tiring day.
she made her way to the kitchen of her shared apartment and took an apple and a box of milk. she made her way to the living room and plopped herself down in the sofa.
few minutes passed, then she heard the she heard the front door opening followed by footsteps from her dear brother.
"did you eat? " the 25 years old man asked his sister.
"not yet," the girl shakes her head.
"well guess what! i brought food from the restaurant!" her brother exclaimed while bring up the black plastic bag near the eye level showing his billion dollar smile.
"that isn't leftovers, right? ", she skeptically asked her brother.
"no! of course not! " jongsuk waved his hands in denial.
"okay then, what did you bring? ", she stood up from the sofa and walked towards him.
—
"thanks for the food," yun said with a small smile playing on her lips "and i guess it was not the leftovers. "
"it is not! why would i bring leftovers for me and my sister from my own restaurant!" he let out a lot sigh in response to her teasing.
"sorry, sorry! now i'm gonna go to sleep," she yawned and made her way to her room.
"sure. sleep well. dream of me!"
yun cringed at her brothers comment and made a face while her brother only let out a hearty laugh at her.
making her way towards her dear bed she jumped on it bringing the comforter over her body and drifted to sleep.
