Siri POV:
We finally pulled into the platform. It was just as Uncle Moony described it. All of us were quick to jump and run off the train. I couldn't wait to see the school. Suddenly a loud voice rung out through the platform.
"FIRST YEARS THIS WAY!" we followed the noise to find a half giant standing there. He had unruly curly hair along with a beard. We follow him to we came to a section of boat. "FOUR TO A BOAT!" He yelled. He scanned over everyone but soon as he landed on us he seemed to freeze. He called us over we quick to oblige. "You four...I'm gonna have trouble from you aren't I." We all nodded our head. We had already planned a prank for a certain professor. " Just like your fathers, look a lot like em' to" I blushed a certain light pink. No one, and I mean no one , compared me to my father. I loved it though. "Ok you lot into a boat."
Once we were all seated the boats started to move forward, following floating lanterns. As we did a beautiful castle came in to view. I heard gasp and whispers all around me. But even seeing the castle I couldn't believe I was going here.
We slowly pulled into a dock house before getting out and being pulled up the stairs. There we were greeted by a stern looking lady. She had gorgeous emerald green robes with a standard black hat cover her greying hair. She looked us all over before stopping at us. She became remarkably pale with a grave face. She quickly changed it back to the tight lipped face she always wore.
"The firs' years, Professor McGonagall," said Hagrid.
"Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here."
She pulled the door wide. The entrance hall was so big you could have fit the whole of the lupins' house in it. The stone walls were lit within flaming torches like the ones at Gringotts, the ceiling was too high to make out, and a magnificent marble staircase facing them led to the upper floors.
We followed Professor McGonagall across the flagged stone floor. I could hear the drone of hundreds of voices from a doorway to the right -the rest of the school must already be here -- but Professor McGonagall showed us first years into a small, empty chamber off the hall. We crowded in, standing rather closer together than we would usually have done, peering about nervously.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall. "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room.
"The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rulebreaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours.
"The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting." I suddenly became very nervous. What if I wasn't in Gryffindor, what if Slytherin was the house I was put in. I wanted to be like my parents. Not like a slimy Slytherin.
"Now, form a line," Professor McGonagall told us first years, "and follow me."
Feeling oddly as though my legs had turned to lead, I got into line behind Renesmeé, with Jamie behind me, and we walked out of the chamber, back across the hall, and through a pair of double doors into the Great Hall. It wasn't like how uncle Remus described it.
I had never even imagined such a strange and splendid place. It was lit by thousands and thousands of candles that were floating in midair over four long tables, where the rest of the students were sitting. These tables were laid with glittering golden plates and goblets. At the top of the hall was another long table where the teachers were sitting. Professor McGonagall led us first years up here, so that we came to a halt in a line facing the other students, with the teachers behind them. The hundreds of faces staring at us looked like pale lanterns in the flickering candlelight. Dotted here and there among the students, the ghosts shone misty silver. Mainly to avoid all the staring eyes, I looked upward and saw a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars. I heard Renesmeé whisper "It was enchanted to look the night sky." I looked back at her and smiled before looking ahead at the sorting hat. It was old and torn around the hem. McGonagall was quick to start calling at names. Each person went up to the chair and had the hat on the head. Each sorting took different amount of time then it would call out a house.
"Black,Sirena!" I strutted up to the seat with all the confidence I had. As I sat down the hat landed perfectly on my head.
"Ahhh.....Miss Black, I've been waiting to sort you since I heard you were coming. Hmmmm......." It said "Just like your father....but you have your mothers kindness." It paused. "I know exactly where to put...... Gryffindor!!" It exclaimed. I was to take off the hat and run towards the red coloured table.
Sorting continued on as names were called. I barley paid attention until a certain name was called.
"Lupin,Renesmeé" She slowly made her way up to the podium. Once she reached it the hat was was placed. It took a few minutes to decide before it shouted:"Gryffindor!" She didn't take a minute to run over to the red and gold decorated table. I smiled at her when I saw excited look.
~~~~~~Time Skip ~~~~~~~
"Petigrew,Penelope" was called. She stumbled up to the seat before clumsily placing the hat on head. It covered half her face. You barely see her head. It took another two minutes before the hat shouted:"Gryffindor!" She quickly took off the hat and literally ran over here. Both me and Renny smiled at her before turning to the front.
"Potte,Jasmine!" McGonagall paused. She seemed to process what she was saying before letting out a quiet "oh god"
Jamie strutted up to the hut and stuffed on her head. It barley had time to process saying anything before shouting: "Gryffindor."
She quickly ran over to us. We all smiled.
All together at last.....
