Eli roamed the halls with a dead expression on his face. Not much happened around him or his life, so it was very common to find him like this. He eventually got to class, unpacked what he needed, and tried to make small-talk. "So, how's everyone today?" Eli said without a dreadful tone, surprisingly. No one had replied. Eli perked up again. "So, how's everyone today?" "We heard you the first time, now be quiet. We're trying to learn shit." Trent had replied. Trent, that sly, smug son of a bitch. All he had to do in class was not get noticed by the teacher, be on his phone, and fucking talk nonsense all day. Eli focused back on his work. He then realized, he'd spent that little amount of time trying to ask a table how their fucking day was, yet he just missed something from the teacher that'll cost his grades to go down for an entire semester. 'Life, such a joyous experience.' Eli had thought to himself.
"Eli, what does that mean?" The teacher, Dr. Smith, had noticed Eli not paying attention, so why not call on him? Make a fool of that kid, right? So everyone who wasn't already laughing at him can! Makes sense, doesn't it? "Huh, what?" Eli had mumbled. "Answer the question, Eli. I can tell you it again if you need me to." Dr. Smith replied. "Yes, please, uh.." "What does x resemble in this equation?" He said, pointing to the almost impossible equation on the board. "S-seven..?" he could hear quiet snickers and giggles across the room. "No, Eli, it resembles the number of bills Ms. Johnson has to pay." "I thought this was Math..?" Eli responded. The class burst into tears, everyone laughing so hard, one fell off their chair. Probably an exaggeration, though. Desperate class clowns and such. "This is math, Eli. This is just the situation.." Dr. Smith had said with a disappointed frown on his face. Eli slumped over, head in his arms, resting on the table. "Nice going, smart-ass." Eli had said to himself.
