"Sweetie, get up, it's time for school." Elijah, or Eli's mom, Lisa, was a very productive woman. She would always do things neat and tidy, never be late, work hard, and of course, wake up her lousy son to get to school on time. "In a minute," Eli shouted back. His mother didn't seem to respond, to which Eli assumed she couldn't hear him. He still waited over a minute, though. He didn't want to go walk around like a zombie, do boring work, eat lunch alone, and come home to just doing chores, other shit, go to bed and repeat the same process. The school was hell for him, and it wasn't the work there he hated. What he did hate, were the people. The "popular" kids, the ones that didn't have to do anything because they always had the entire class backing them up. The ones that don't give a shit about anyone, because all they do is ruin and make fun of other people that would never wish to do the harm they do to them. Eli wasn't one of them. He didn't want to harm another person, even if it meant he was to be harmed.
"Eli!" Eli woke up with Lisa screaming his name downstairs. Eli, just waking up, thought that this was an emergency rather than an attempt to get up. He immediately threw on his clothes, ran downstairs, and asked what the problem was. "There's no problem. Now that you're dressed, though, go ahead and get everything you need and head to school," Lisa said. Eli groaned. "What about breakfast?" His mother pointed directly next to his bookbag on a desk where a bowl of Raisin Bran lay. "C'mon mom, Raisin Bran?" "Yes, now eat it all before it goes soggy, cold, and you throw it out." Eli eventually finished it, got ready, and headed off to school. "Here we go again..." Eli moaned.
