A New Addition

"Louis! I already got a kitty!" I playfully yell at him. He looks up, surprised to see I have actually had one in my hands. He gently scratches 'his' kitten behind the ear before getting up and walking across the kitchen to me and 'my kitten'. "I didn't know." he said grinning kissing me and then the tiny kitten. "They are new additions." he said still playing it. I look at him and smile, shaking my head. I hand him the kitten and walk back towards the door to take my shoes off, when I see a car pull up. "Who is that babe?" I ask trying to see what kind of car it is. "Oh! I forgot Niall and Liam where coming over to dinner." he said calmly. I look at him as if he has two heads. "What! I hope you have dinner cooked for them!" I say putting my hands on my hips. "Uh, I do." he said giving me an innocent smile. I roll my eyes and start to walk up the stairs. "I'm taking a shower!" I yell. "Alright, hurry! I want you to eat with us!" he replies. "Eat what?" I laugh loudly. I hear him mumble, but I'm to far away from him to hear what he actually says. I open the door to our shared room and find clothes everywhere. I sigh to myself and make a mental note to clean, sometime, if ever. Before going in the bathroom to start showering, I check my phone. I see I have 2 messages and 5 missed calls from my mom. What would make her call? She was on vacation. Then I see the messages that my brother sent. 'Mom and Dad are in the hospital. Call ASAP'. I drop my clothes and call. "What's wrong?" I ask concerned when I hear my brother, Greg, pick up. "June....they're....I....I'm sorry." I hear him sob. "Greg? What is wrong?" I demand with a sad voice. "June, they..they got in a wreck..." his voice cracks. "They didn't make it " he said barely audible. I lose my balance and fall to my knees. I throw my phone clear across the room and start screaming. "Louis!" I scream for him.
