Imagine 4: Settle For Less (Dark Alley)

"Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh,
eh, eh" I sang while walking
through a street.

I was trying to find where the
restaurant my "boyfriend" told me to
go to. It was the one called
"Nando's".

I turned to another street but still
I found nothing. I decided to
look for a person to ask. It was
already dark and I was walking
alone. I felt like someone's gonna
grab me.

I kept walking and finally found
some source of life. There, I found
a guard by a mall. I came up to him
or her (depends on what gender the
guard is) and ask him or her where
the restaurant was. Fortunately, he or
she answered and I walked to
another street again.

Finding out that the guard was a good
person I silently prayed and thank
the Lord for giving me that blessing.

I went in Nando's and tried to
look for my "boyfriend". He said that
he'd be there and knowing him for
my whole middle school life, he
never lied or if he did, I would
know. He always showed up on time
too but now, I have witnessed the
opposite. He wasn't there with that
smirk but was replaced by an empty
seat.

I was tired of waiting for five minutes and decided to go to
Starbucks and grab a drink then go back again to Nando's.

"Miss, what do you want to order?"
the barista asked me.

"Um... Can I please get the Cotton
Candy Frappe?" I replied while
having a wide smile. Cotton Candy
Frappe has always been my favorite
(just replace the drink's name to your
favorite).

"What name would you want to put
on this cup ma'm?" the barista asked
again.

"Connor" I smiled.

"Connor? Uh... You're a girl." the
barista wondered.

"It's uh a long story! Just please put
Connor?" I begged.

"Oh okay! You're the costumer. Well, I
Bet your boyfriend Connor is proud
of you!" the barista said.

"Um... Ah no! Hahaha! He isn't my
boyfriend." I blushed.

Those last words that I said wasn't
heard by the barista because the line
has moved on. I felt like a great
guilty liar that I haven't explained it.

~~~~
"Cotton Candy Frappe for Connor!"
another barista called out.
I went to the bar to grab the drink
but someone, a guy went first and got
the drink but when he saw that it
wasn't Peppermint, he began to ask
why. The barista I talked to awhile
ago at the counter told him that there
as another person named Connor in
the store who ordered the Frappe.
The guy named Connor went away.
I was wondering if it was "my"
Connor McDonough because "Hey!
When you're in Starbucks and there's
someone named Connor and he's
wearing some jacket, it might be the
member of BYE!"
I walked to the bar feeling defeated
because I wasn't able to see the
face of the guy in a jacket. I decided
to just let it go because it's such an
impossible truth anyway. I went out
of the coffee shop and went back to
Nando's.
I entered the restaurant again and
searched the whole place. I was
approached by a young lady working in the store and asked how many of us are coming to be able to sit and eat in the restaurant.
I said, "Um... My boyfriend is gonna
be here. I mean he is here, I think?"
"Oh! You go search the room then
because I don't know how your
boyfriend looks like." she said in a
concerned way.
