Lisa’s POV:

*Beep Beep Beep* I hit my alarm clock and it was 6:30am. I untangled myself from Niall’s grip and didn’t bother waking him up because he looked so peaceful. I had a shower and I headed downstairs to make my lunch and dinner as well as breakfast. When I looked at the clock it was time for me to leave. I wrote Niall a note and left. I worked in the peeds ward (paediatric ward with really sick children) everyday it breaks my heart to see them like this. I always say that ‘’you will help them and you will do your best with them’’ and it works. I wasn’t looking forward to this month doing 15 hour shifts 6 days a week but there is one patient who I love. She is like my little sister. Her name was Charlie. She makes me laugh and she is 5 years old. I got to work and put my stuff in my locker and my food in the staffroom and walked over to the desk. I did my morning routine at 8:30 am which was get everyone up for breakfast and give them their medications. I walked in to Charlie’s room and she was already awake, she saw me and gave me a hug. She is so cute.

‘’what are you doing awake missy? I normally have to wake you up’’ I said.

‘’I was waiting for you Lisa’’ she replied.

‘’aww thanks Charlie’’ I said and sat her up in bed.

When breakfast came around I helped Charlie eat and get her food ready. When 11am came I was just about to leave for my morning tea when I was hugged my someone. I turned around and it was Niall.

‘’morning Li. I brought you some coffee and doughnuts’’ Niall said.

‘’morning to you to honey and thanks’’ I replied and gave him a peck when I heard a buzzer going off. I looked at what room it was and it was Charlie’s room. I put the coffee down and ran into her room.

‘’Charlie hang in there’’ I said trying to revive her. I managed to revive her and I gave her a massive hug.

‘’oh thank god. You scared me Charlie’’ I said.

‘’I’m sorry’’ she replied.

‘’its ok princess’’ I said and hugged her.

Charlie has no parents because they died in a car accident last week and she was traumatised like any other 5 year old would, losing both of her parents. That is why she is in here. She has a tumour and the doctors don’t know how long she has to live. It is too much for a little to handle. Losing her family and then finding out she will die but don’t know when. I really feel for her. I kind of know how she feels losing her family. She doesn’t trust anyone but me. I heard her scream.

‘’what’s wrong love?’’ I asked and she pointed to Niall.

‘’Is that Niall Horan from One Direction?’’ she asked.

‘’yes and he is my boyfriend. Do you want to meet him?’’ I asked her.

‘’yes please’’ she replied. So I called Niall over and he came.

‘’Niall this is Charlie and she loves One Direction. She is also my favourite person here’’ I said.

‘’hello Charlie. I’m Niall. Nice to meet you’’ Niall said to her.

‘’you too’’ she replied. A few minutes passed when Angie a co-worker came in and asked if I have been on my break. I said no.

‘’go on your morning tea break. I’ll look after miss Charlie bear for you’’ Angie said.

‘’thanks Angie’’ I said to her.

‘’ok. Charlie I’m going for my break. If you need anything just press the buzzer and Angie will be here for you. I’ll be back soon ok?’’ I asked.
