CHAPTER 9: WAS HE AFRAID OR SHY?

So right after maybe a couple of hours of waiting and waiting... Our performance in the dance club was finished, and that was only for the recognition part... So we still had to wait for the graduation event... So, we went to our teacher and asked her if maybe we could already eat... So the teacher asked the school administrator if we could already eat... So as the teacher went to inside the auditorium to ask... I walked towards Stephanie... And I gave her the cue about getting Marcus Glenn to talk to me... So as the teacher exits up the auditorium she approached all of us... As she told us to line up to get our food....

So as Stephanie goes back to where Eugene is... I asked for her assurance if she was gonna help me or not... So I gave the "are-you-gonna-help-me-or-not-look" and she just nodded... So that means I got her assurance... So as I got my food... I went to the other side where Marcus Glenn was eating... S right after maybe a few minutes... I saw a friend of mine, Percy, walking towards me... I thought he was just about to tell me something... But I was wrong... He wanted to eat with me... But it's a good thing he ate there with me... I was starting to feel a little bit lonely... And then suddenly someone was trying to call me in my phone... It was an old friend of mine... Who was scaring the hell out of me...

"Hello?" As I answered the phone with a very scared voice

"He's watching you" she said in a whisper

"Okay... You are freaking me out already..." I said

"Hahahahah... Just kidding you out..." She freaked the hell out of me...

"So... Why'd you call Jeffy?" I asked

"Nothing... I was just bored" she said

"Can I hang-up now? I'm eating..." I asked

"Ohh.... Okay... Bye... Enjoy your meal" she said as I hung-up the phone

While Percy and I was eating... Percy told me that he was just gonna go the bathroom... So I just said okay... Then while I was looking Stephanie... I saw Eugene and her talking to her... Then maybe after a few minutes... I looked t them again and I saw Stephanie walking towards me... Because she wanted water... So she grabs my bag... And gets my water from my bag... Then I asked

"So... What happened?" I asked with a lot of curiosity coming into my head

"Uhh... He'll talk to you later" she said then she continues her drinking

"Really?!" I said with relief

Then while I took a glance at Marcus Glenn and Eugene... I saw them talking... As in "REALLY TALKING"... And it really got me more suspicious...

So after maybe a few minutes... We all went inside the auditorium... So the whole time, I was waiting for him... I was waiting for him to be the one to approach me... Instead of me approaching him... But nothing... Until... Right after our last presentation, the pantomime, was finally finished... I was supposed to change in this small room where it was kind of safe for me to change in... So right after changing... I went to the seating place where Marcus Glenn was seated... It he wasn't there... He was changing as well... Inside the small room where I also changed...

So maybe after like five to seven minutes... He finally came out... I was waiting for him to say something while he was just standing there beside me... Nothing... All he ever did was, he gave back al the things he borrowed from me... My Filipino notebook, my M.A.P.E.H (music, arts, physical education, health) book... And two polo shirts...he gave everything that I lend him and borrowed from me... Of course I thought right after him returning all of my stuff back to me... He was finally gonna talk to me... But still nothing... But I decided to give him another chance.... But still... Nothing... I gave him like a minute or two... But nothing... So I got mad...I grabbed my bag... And just walked away... Then I spoke to Stephanie...

"I thought he was gonna talk to me" I exclaimed

"Why?! What happened?!" She asked

"Uhmm... Let me see... He returned all of the things I let him borrow and lent to him... Then after like uhmm... Five minutes there was only silence... Not a word he said to me about the subject I was waiting for" I exclaimed as my eyes were starting to have tears

Then Stephanie looks at Eugene...

"Eugene... Marcus Glenn didn't talk to her!" She told Eugene

Then Eugene gave Marcus Glenn his "pissed-off-look" and then shouts

"Hey! Marcus Glenn!! What?!" He calls Marcus Glenn and made a cue using his eyes... Like the cue... "Talk-to-her-already-cue".

Then Marcus Glenn to just said wait... Well that was what I saw in his actions...

So... Since I felt my eyes wanted to just cry already... I carried my bag already then walked as fast as I can to the exit door to cry...

~ KAYLIE'S POV ~

I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE IT... HE WON AGAIN... IT'S LIKE HE WON... HE WON THE WHO-GETS-SOMEONE'S-HOPES-UP-AWARD... HE'S THE CHAMPION... AND I'M THE LOSER... WHY?! I THOUGHT HE WANTED TO TALK TO ME?! I EXPECTED TOO MUCH! WHY CAN'T YOU BE SO COLD-HEARTED JUST LIKE HIM?! IN FACT HE IS GOOD WITH BREAKING YOUR HEART... UGH!!!

~ END OF POV ~

As I walked towards the entrance of the theatre... I saw him with the eight graders... Walking... At that moment.. I just wanted to punch him in the face... I was just so mad at him I couldn't even take it anymore... My heart just broke down... I wanted to cry... So as I go back inside the theatre... I saw Gina... I know it wild be awkward to her if I just hugged her... But from the way it looks... I know she knows that I'm crying... And I'm thankful for her... 'Cause even though she doesn't seem to know what the problem is wether it's big or small... She'll just be there for you... She'll be ready to hug you anytime...

So as I hugged her... She asked me...

"What's wrong?"

"It's Marcus Glenn" I said

"What happened?" She said

"He won... He got my hopes up too high this time... I give up" I said

"Why? What was supposed to happen?" She asked still hugging me tightly

"He promised to talk to me... I waited for him... I waited for him to approach me... But nothing... Until I was the one who approached him... But still nothing!!!" I screamed

"It's okay... Just let it out" she said... As she pats my back...
