Eifad applied maroon lipstick neatly and smacked her lips. She pouted checking her reflection, she then checked her perfect winged eyeliner and Kohl.
'What is this you are wearing for the wedding?' Aisha interrupted from behind. Eifad frowned and turned to look at her mother.
'What is wrong in this?' Eifad titled her head little to her right and looked annoyed at her mother.
'This? You are going for an Indian Wedding, try something traditional.' Aisha shook her head. Eifad looked down at her attire, Maroon cold shoulder evening dress with side slit.
'It is too modern for you?' Eifad raised her eyebrow. Aisha nodded, 'Too modern for an Indian wedding.' Aisha corrected her.
Eifad turned facing the mirror, 'Whatever, Ma.' She adjusted her star pendant. This dress she has gotten only today is perfect, the only one problem is the neckline. It is V-neck but thankfully not plunging.
'But...' Aisha stopped talking when Eifad glared at her from the mirror. Aisha gulped nodding and walked out of the room. It is useless talking to her.
Eifad doesn't mind wearing a saree or something traditional, but with short hair, it will look awkward to her. She liked this better. Eifad slipped into Maroon open toe lace-up stiletto booties and applied her perfume. She combed her layered bob-cut hair and adjusted her side bangs neatly across her forehead, she made a mental note to have them cut, they are falling into her eyes.
Once done, she looked at her reflection. She twirled little and smiled fully content with her attire.
'Looking beautiful, sweetheart.' Eifad froze on hearing his voice. She turned around. She composed herself, pushed back random strands of her bangs. But her expressions gave her away.
Farhan is looking handsome in a grey Kurtha and white Dhoti pants. He looked exceptionally good in traditional wear. His straight hair is neatly combed and gelled, a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his lips.
'Hasn't anyone taught you to knock someone's door.' Eifad said annoyed.
'Hasn't anyone told you, to lock the room and.... dance.' Farhan shrugged. Eifad frowned at him, he always has something to counter her.
'I .... I.... wasn't dancing...I don't dance.' She told him. Before she embarrasses herself further she picked up her golden clutch and walked haughtily towards the door.
'You look amazing, but you would have looked awesomer in a saree.' Farhan whispered as Eifad passed him by the door. Eifad stopped in her tracks and turned her head to look at him. He looked back with a smile. Their gaze got locked.
With Eifad staring into his brown eyes, she felt lost. She didn't notice he had moved his hand bringing his fingers close to her face. She felt his fingers brush against her cheek. She blinked looking away as he adjusted the golden danglers in her ear.
'Thanks...' she muttered looking everywhere but at him.
'Now, let's go we are getting late, honey.' Farhan said in his normal tone. Eifad rolled her eyes.
'Whatever.' She was about to leave when Farhan stuck out his arm gesturing her to take it. Eifad glared at him turned around and walked away with her chin held high.

'Please, you sing Farhan. You sing better.' Zara said excitedly from the back seat. Farhan nodded, he cleared his throat when Eifad scoffed. Farhan frowned adjusting the rear-view mirror.
'What you think I don't sing well?' Farhan raised his eyebrow looking at Eifad from the rear-view window.
Tansen drove the car while Farhan sat in the passenger seat. Zara and Aisha sat in the back seat with Eifad squished in between them.
'Oh please! You sing good but better than Arijit Singh. Don't you think you are flying too high?' Eifad chuckled.
Farhan smiled watching her chuckle, but when she looked up into the mirror and Farhan composed himself.
'It is not me telling this, it is Zara and little girls are never wrong, Haina, Zara?' Farhan turned his head looking back.
Zara nodded her head excitedly, 'Yes, Yes.'
'Whatever.' Eifad rolled her eyes.
Farhan leaned forward reduced the radio's volume and then cleared his throat. Zara clapped happily while Eifad sighed in defeat.
Farhan adjusted the rear-view mirror so he could have a good look at Eifad. She simply glared back at him.
Jo teri khatir tadpe pehle se hi
Kya usse tadpana o zaalima, o zaalima
Jo tere ishq mein behka pehle se hi
Kya usse behkana o zaalima, o zaalima
'Arghh.... SHUT UP!' Eifad yelled as the car drove away and Farhan's voice grew louder with Zara joining him.
